oh mai what did I write lol sweat.gif
was having logic like this :

1:4 beercan = full body of the frog (max close up you can get)
1:1 macro lens = probably just got the eye of the frog (also max close up you can get)

err right or wrong? englighten me sifuuu tongue.gif

1:1 means that the subject size will be reproduced the same size on the sensor. Usually when the macro lens is at its maximum extension and at its MFD.

So when u said that the frog is too big for macro at 1:1, it's a given, but doesn't mean that you can't use the macro lens to shoot, you just hv to move back a bit to fill the frame, in that case you'll just won't get 1:1, probably 1:X (x>1) tongue.gif

I see, good and thank you for clearing things up ~ at least my logic is not really that stray away from fact tongue.gif
I`m not really good at making a statement, but just want to say that beercan alone is enough for close up picture of the frog. (since I dont have macro lens cry.gif ) rclxms.gif

thinking of borrowing someone lens for a few minutes to test it before decide what to do with it;
*
of course its gonna stay like that since its already broken sweat.gif just decide quickly before your warranty expired brows.gif or else maybe you can just proceed to buy new body icon_idea.gif (maybe due to part to replace too expensive or nor more spare part because a200 kinda old model)
