QUOTE(limeuu @ Jul 28 2018, 07:45 PM) the redemption platform is in such a mess at the moment.... not sure about that, but i recall that they did not allow Biz Smart redemption before this (only Biz Flex). but this time they allowed.the taxes/charges do NOT tally between redemption and cash booking.... as if mh is not in enough trouble....they cannot get simple things like this right.... |

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Nov 19 2018, 06:15 PM) Enrich - 200k++ miles For Asia Miles, always need to submit form for non-cathay flights right?SQ - 170k miles (but higher airport charges and taxes) Asia Miles - 140k and you can choose British Airways or MAS for direct, Cathay or Qatar with 1 stopover. For the Asia Miles, iām not sure if the redemption for MAS stays at 140k. Since you need to submit an online form and they will get back to you. Others like BA, CX and Qatar can see the points required online. Even for BA and QR. |

QUOTE(reign226 @ Dec 8 2018, 08:35 AM) Funny story to share from earlier this year...it's cheaper to fly HKG-KUL-LHR than it is to fly direct KUL-LHR. don't quite understandI redeemed my Enrich points for this journey, paid lesser miles than I had if I took KUL-LHR, and get to spend an extra 4 hours flying business class out of Hong Kong and enjoying the incredible Cathay lounge (MAS shares their lounge with Cathay in HK). It took about 240k miles for my family to travel business class return (two adults and one baby). I suppose MAS is trying to fill up their KUL-LHR flights and this is the reason for it...until today I wasn't very sure why this is the case. Anyway the only down side is the flight was very tiring but that was probably due to the baby being cranky and not letting us get much sleep even during the flight to London. On the plus side she got a seat all to herself because there were not that many people travelling in Business, and the flight attendants were kind enough to cheer her up. How do you get from KUL to HKG to start your journey? |

QUOTE(reign226 @ Dec 13 2018, 02:31 PM) By staying and living in Zhuhai and taking the HKZM Bridge to HKIA, haha. Oh. Didn't know u live in China šI have around 200k enrich miles now...I need to claim it all by May next year...any suggestions where to go? The only problem is I stay in China so HKG enrich redemption is quite limited. The longest haul was to LHR...I might have no choice but to claim that route again. I saw some comments about claiming miles into Dubai as a stopover, maybe worth a thought. |

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Jan 2 2019, 11:39 AM) For 2 pax, probably KUL-HK... (around 25k miles economy return) He still need to pay airport tax, so should compare carefully with ongoing promotions before redeeming. Since Enrich redemption is tied to fare, it need more point for popular destination like Seoul (40k) or redeem 1 KUL-London return and pay for another 1, then share the cost together Could be more worthwhile purchasing tickets and saving the miles for biz class redemptions. Unless the miles expiring. |

Really stupid. The fares for school holidays are exorbitantly high, therefore the miles required also high. Give peasant discount better don't give.
Call it school holidays discount pulak. Really facepalm this MAS. 4% discount also dare write.. |

Too long didn't buy MAS ticket. Now they charge rm63 for each seat selection, meaning rm126 per person for return. And luggage only 20kg for promo ticket, really facepalm.
(Ok maybe I cheapskate) |

QUOTE(James1983 @ Sep 9 2019, 10:03 AM) MAS is going from bad to worse, I think their financial woes is causing them to make decisions that impact the quality and value for money. Yes, and unfortunately I really hate transits esp when travelling with children and family. No longer a good choice, unless you really hate transits I actually tried looking up SQ and although they charge for seat selection for cheapest fare class, it is free if there are children in the itinerary. MAS really need to buck up. |

QUOTE(winson_0802 @ Nov 12 2020, 03:05 PM) Even if they continue business, their ticket prices won't be cheap, and since their redemption is tied to their ticket prices, the miles will also be increased. Their redemption promos since past 2 years weren't very attractive either. That is what I think la, not worth my treatpoints to take such a risk. If Asia Miles had 50% bonus miles then is different story š |
