He suit the role as a second striker on a 4-4-2 formation. And btw, did Wenger play 4-4-2 on the dying minutes?
Change of tactics Arsenal from the usual 4-2-3-1
Afraid Arsenal are going to surrender even more possession with that formation. Walcott can't operate deeper, not really comfortable around tight space while Giroud is a box striker. Remember how Manchester City and Spurs were overrun in the center against Arsenal not too long ago? It'll be similar like that. Maybe it's better as Plan B at the moment. In my opinion, current setup functioning well. It's just sometime the player doesn't perform according to the standard. Arsene shouldn't rush to tinker with the setup just to accommodate two forward.Edit: Anyway, it's still an interesting prospect. With Walcott, opponent are forced to defend much deeper. That's when Giroud can showcase his strength and ability around the box. However, the possession is still important part of Arsenal play. It's much easier and organized to play with ball on your feet rather than spend most of time chasing it.
