After working for a year plus, i find that working in a smaller company was better for me because i was exposed to a lot of things. Besides being a netowrk technician dealing with cisco devices , i'm also in charge of server maintenence of the campus and had to learn up on FreeBSD and Windows Server 2003 fast. At the same time i have to deal with vendors. The pay might be small but the experience enabled me to get my ccna cert. I'll only move to another company once i've completed all my ccnp exams.
I was with an MNC before this but i hopped since i didn't like being confined to just one job function(COBOL coder) which i wasn't performing very well in.
For me , the first year is best to get a feel of the whole working environment and adjust.
Still ,if you are already set on a field , might as well pursue. My methods are more for grads who are unsure and want a feel of all aspects of IT.
Is it wise for fresh grads to choose jobs
