When you are given a lot of choices then yes, you may be choosy but do not be too narrow when it comes to being choosy. You need to weigh your goals/career against job/salary.

A lot of people will say that salary is important, yes it is but at one point you might get sick of the job and want to move in a totally different field which might cause you to waste your time. You have to know what you want to do and then go towards it.

It is possible to have a freshie get RM3k and above. Nothing is impossible now. Mostly consulting companies will pay you a lot even for fresh graduates.

Consulting firms such as McKinsey, Boston Consultancy, Arthur D Little pay you a lot (more than RM3k).

I know McKinsey gives RM7k for a starting pay. BCG a little lower, not to sure to be exact and Arthur D Little around RM4k. These are all management strategy consulting companies (they consult in other areas as well).

Fren, I'm referring to the highest end.  U can go to Accenture to get that, if u r qualified enuf
*
Accenture is not at the highest end. Like I mentioned in the other posts, there are other consultancy companies that offer more pay.

Show ur 1st class degree, pass thru several rigouruos interviews in Accenture for e.g. then u can join
*
You don't really need a first class degree. Second Upper and above or 3.0CGPA and above if I am not wrong. That was what they posted in the newspaper advert.

Freshies with RM7k? Wht's the requirements?
*
The requirements are extremely high, great personality, Ivy-league universities and extremely capable and have high credibility. notworthy.gif

How I wish! I've job hopped several times and I still haven't reach that yet. You may get that if your working in Kiasuland with their currency convert to RM. Or working for Oil Company.

So far the highest I have heard for a fresh grad is RM7k. That is he/she is extremely outstanding. But there are other positions also in consultancy based companies where they pay fresh grads more than RM3k. smile.gif

But please also be noted that it's a competitive world thus it's not easy to get your dream job right after you graduated. It's however easier to get a job if
- You can communicate well in English
- You've good results and had experience in Industrial Training/Practical
- You speak the right thing and show the right attitude during interview.
- You are not showing your strong desire in salary during interview.
You are totally right on that. Nowadays, there is an emphasis on strong communication skills and leadership qualities. Technical skills can always be learned but it is how one present themselves and bring out the best in themselves and the people around that attract big companies and big cash.

Always remember to do your research and try to take the extra step to impress your future interviewers. There are hundreds of applicants with the same degree and same qualifications as you are, therefore you need to go the extra mile if you want to be above the rest.

That is a good attitude to have. Learn and gain all the experience you can so that you can prove your worth in your next job and earn more and move towards a successful career path.
