I think I asked this before but can't recall.
Due to DiGi's bad connectivity in my office.

1) Set to WCDMA only. It manages to retain H and 3G all the time.
2) Set to auto mode. It changes to EDGE sometimes and jumps back to H.

So which one is more battery effective?

in my opinion, i think setting it to a specific mode would be more battery effective than asking the phone to auto search for a better mode.

when not using 3g internet, set gsm
else, set wcdma only, don't choose auto

wanna ask, each time i 100% & succesfully download or update apps from playstore, it will automatically open d apps that i've downloaded or updated it, rather than just show me or notice me that d apps was installed or updated on d top of d screen with d playstore logo.. is there any way to change this settings?? i've checked all d playstore settings & compare it with my wife's s3, but couldn't found it.. coz my wife's s3 whenever download or update apps from playstore, after 100% succesfull it will not automatically open d updated/ installed apps.. both are stock non- rooted phone.. tq..

So far I didnt notice any significant difference when set to wcdma only when at poor signal area. Standby for wcdma are definitelty draining more. However I am using wcdma only network now. Good enough and sometime do encounter drop call when driving.

I did not judge I merely stated a logical proposition based on the known factors that
a. you spent time to look up this forum
b. your question woild hv required you to spend more time waiting for an answer and again reading this forum

so now since u spent some time writing a nice rebuttal....this means you do have the time to read and cogitate.

a quick google would have given you the satisfaction of an almost instant answer and increased understanding for yr own benefit instead of being disappointed in someone else' negative response.

Hmm. My battery dropped 2% in 30 minutes since I unplugged my charger. I was on WCDMA only just now. When I was on auto mode it drops 3% in about an hour.

This is just to troublesome.

Somehow it had some difference on me. Now back to auto mode to monitor.

Using SGP Ultra Crystal, doesn't cover till the edge of bezel.. Shaky hands, that's the best I can do.
