last month 2 of my guildies got hacked as well, just after the mega server roll out.

most likely they hacked your email first, and then they hacked your gw2 account. as we know currently there is an issue called heartbleed that threaten the security of secure website, due to programming flaw. may be the hacker take advantage of this issue...

to the rest of us, do tighten your email security. change the password, and do activate the 2-step verification. this way the hacker will have lesser chance of hacking your email. also check your gw2 account whether the phone authenticator activated or not, either by you or possible hacker.

if you check the official forum, you'll see so many people posting they got hacked in the last few weeks...

there are actually many skills and traits that can make up many type of builds, but people tend to stick to the meta be it zerker, condi, bunking etc, making other build appear to be less popular..

the lack of gear progression in spvp is because they want it to be a levelled playing field for all players. no need to worry about gear, only think about builds and strategy.

i know few players that play gw2 just for the spvp aspect of it. that may be their cup of coffee, which probably not for most of us.

the 50% off discount from ANET was the best deal for a GW2 account. would be hard to find any cheaper than rm75, be it new or used account. if you're lucky enough you may find someone willing to sell their gw2 acct for rm50. but make sure you get everything : email , passwords, serial key etc.

the installer only install portion of the game client. the game itself updates almost every 2 weeks with new content.

total game client size is around 20GB.

yeah, the recent changes is very confusing indeed even for the veteran players who are leveling new alts.

skill point ? try grabbing them from them map.... the blue ^ icon....

i think the recent changes are to force people to explore the maps more, which is in a way it is good for the player, but from another angle can be viewed as lame....

gold are kept in the account wallet. so, even if you deleted all your characters, they are still there.

yeah.. only need to do 3 dailies for 10AP. depending on the rewards, i still do the extra daily, especially the world boss one because it gives 1 rare item lol....

otherwise i will be in the Silverwaste farming mordrem parts and crests....

CCTV (SoS), HAX(CD) and TIME(DB) are very much still alive and happening....

you can try to hop on to the starting maps for other races, and do the map completion there....

hmm.. any reason why boxed ? you can online purchase the game key for the expansion when the time comes. unless, of course, you collect boxed edition.

ah ok, well, you might want to try Heavyarm when HoT launched....

yah, when i bought that time official rate was 3.85 but i chked bank charged me around 3.95, now if i buy may cost around 4.35 per dollar including bank charges.

the beta events only give us a glimpse of the expansion content , but still give us idea of what it will be like. generally anet add new way of progression i.e. the mastery, you gain mastery point progression by competing events.

if you like GW2 and enjoy the game, it would be worth it because you'll be playing a lot of new content. regarding price, the price now is for pre-purchase, which give access to beta event. if you can wait until the launch or even a month or 2 after the launch, you may be able to buy it at lower price, may be around $35-$40 for the standard edition, like previously happen to the original GW2. exchange rate ? can't do much... blame jibby.

only if you play the PvE content, or want to try the new specialization. if you play only WvW/PvP and don't care about new specialization , then no need HoT.... new WvW borderland is available to everyone.

in that case, HoT will be very worthy.....
