Samsung displays are known to be vibrant, regardless of make and model. Even their computer LCDs/LCD TVs have vibrant colors. Some like it, however some prefer natural and realistic colours like me, since I take photos a lot and am 'obsessed' with colour accuracy.

Samsung makes traditional LCD screens and those too are overly saturated. It's not just their AMOLED screens which have a viable explanation to the lack of colour accuracy.

Can't seem to send SMS even after patching and using a different kernel. Managed to copy APN settings and get mobile internet to work. Using Umobile. Receiving SMS is possible though.

Any help with this?

Devs are working on calling via the N7. SMS is enabled - just needs root and installing a simple compiled package for it to work. I can use SMS, which means I can activate Viber/WhatsApp.

Anyone have any idea if it is possible to send USSD codes via SMS? I want to use my normal prepaid Umobile plan with my N7 3G but since dialer wouldn't work, I am not able to do topups (*1xx*23412341234234#) and subscribe to mobile data (*1xx*1*1*3*x*x#).

If it was so easy that'd be cool

I would if I could, wouldn't I, haha. I have no microsim phone to reload it with. Wouldn't have asked if I could just plug it into another phone.

Mine is perfect apart from the fact that I can't subscribe to my prepaid stuff through the USSD codes but that is not even the gadget's problem. Tablet has been treating me well, no problems at all.

Also, Newegg is currently only a 'dispatch service' acting for Newegg US which is an electronic wholesale retailer. They sell thousands of products, hence the need for separate quotations instead of being able to offer a fixed price as it might not be reflected in the US site.

Matte has smaller viewing angles & some people don't like their screens with duller colors/sandy texture. Hence diamond - best of both worlds.

It certainly does. Using matte with my N7 right now cause I bring it everywhere with me & am too lazy to constantly give it a wipe-down. Matte is considered a tradeoff.

Been wanting to look for a nice case for the N7 but so far the cases currently available look pretty meh. Even the original case's cover is flimsy, which spoils the fact that it has a lovely backing which mimics the back surface of the N7.

That case looks pretty good in terms of functionality - problem is, I'd have a problem getting it shipped to Malaysia. Parents aren't too fond of non-brick-and-mortar methods of shopping.

You can if you root your device. Install Titanium Backup, do a backup incase you need it, remove the IME.

Devices are made to sell in various regions, which is why sometimes you have Thai/Indo IMEs in local phones. Not surprising.

The 7 and 10 are in two different markets, one is a pocketable tablet and one is a full-fledged tablet. Make up your mind on what you need from a tablet before buying, that will save you from buyers remorse.

The 7 even fits in my pant pockets and I'm wearing size 28, which is, well, TINY.

Finally got a leather case for my tablet from Tropicana City Mall yesterday in one of those shops on the 2nd floor, surprisingly it cost RM62 - less than an RM10 difference from online sellers. Considering I was there for shopping, the extra few bucks was worth the time.

Yesterday also my tablet managed to crash. First time that my Nexus 7 froze. While following Google Maps for navigation somemore.

Not all are scammers, not all aren't either. Nothing wrong to take precautions. It's our hard-earned money after all, unless it's your daddy's money, even so you should be smart enough not to be so foolish with it.
Prepaid? Well, put it in another phone, dial *118*3*1#. 18 bucks per month plan if I am not wrong.

However, bad choice to use prepaid with the N7. I am using it too, luckily I have a micro Sim adapter so I can reload and subscribe to the package on another phone.

I suggest you swap to the postpaid U28 plan. Free SMS and 1GB quota internet, no hassle of reloading and subscribing either. N7 cannot access USSD codes at the moment so you can only topup with another phone. I'm planning to do so once I can MNP my prepaid later this month.
