Everybody have their on preferences on whether they want to root or not. If interested to do it, it's a fulfilling geeky experience. If don't want, you're welcomed to enjoy it at stock.

But please don't personify it as a "Proton" tablet. It's much more than that.

Its a proton because of its price, as well as the QC of certain hardware.  smile.gif

Beg to differ, Proton isn't cheap considering its hardware, the fact it's locally made and there's no investment made for real R&D.

if they have added a "full backup" feature into android in the first place (like apple did), then we wouldn't have to root for the sake of getting it

COMPLAINSSSSSSSS~ RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~

Correct me if I'm wrong, but iOS can't save app data right? Game saves, configurations, etc.

Well I tried but only certain app's data is backed up, and it's not always complete. Plus only some is backed up locally, others requires cloud. Further search led to me some guide to manually access restrictive folders in iOS and copying out their data. Or through SSH

Anyone with actual experience please share if there's any one touch complete backup app+data like the one we have on Android's TB

It's pretty stable. Go on ahead. Honestly you won't feel any difference until you're seasoned various ROMs.

Cracked apps is not worth it. Eventually these will hurt the consumers, having the market place flooded with half-baked apps with flood of ads. It's just a couple USDs

Done some search on the net, seems like if I use the ps3 sixaxis or dualshock 3 controller then i can just plug into the otg cable and play right? If I wanna go wireless then only purchase that Sixaxis app right?  blink.gif

It depends on whether the app supports it natively. I remember just plugging OTG with a Logitech controller for Dead Trigger, it detects automatically. However games like MC2 need an external app

just now, my 3.5mm jack on nexus 7 ruined cause I was playing around with the kernel setting, there's static sound just like my ruined speaker on nexus 7 . Will the warranty covered this?? (Of course after unroot and relock the nexus 7)
*
Are you sure it's hardware? Did you try flashing a different kernel and try again?

some of you guys bought form newegg rite, how long does it take for the item to get here? i'm thinking of self collect at their office..

For me exactly, 10 days; including weekends and public holidays. Whats more amazing is that I bought at 30Dec2012. Thought that with the holiday mood still lingering it'll take more than 2weeks.

Nowadays most people need to first post on forum, tweet their despair, update their statuses, msg a group whatsapp, pig on plurk, pin up pintrest, gravitate on orkut... before doing anything.

Ok ok, settle down. Yes everyone have his opinions but there's no need to repeat. If we want to read it again, well..we'll read it again. Please try to keep this thread intellectually clean. If you don't like it, you're not barred to not to. Just flash another ROM and find one that suits you.

Just don't do this.
Flash XenonHD - Find the nearest social site. Update "omg this sux. AOPK better. Regret"
Flash Miui - Find the nearest social site. Update "omg this sux. AOPK better. Regret"
Flash kernel - Find the nearest social site. Update "omg this sux. Regret"
