is it proper to use that term in christian preaching, or just some mistake from past being keep carry on till now?

I have been approached by christian in past in kl, very long time ago, but never see/heard them using that term.

go into churches that have indonesian sermons.

or orang asli churches in pahang/terengganu. Some even small huts in the forests.

you never see or heard them because the most common in peninsular are english, mandrin and tamil.

indonesian service usually starts in the afternoon and only some churches have it (where indonesian workers are living nearby)

and yes, its a proper term.

when translations are done by the missionaries, they use the words most familiar to the locals.
Allah being a known term for the Supreme Being, and it so happens has the semitic root words in hebrew and aramaic. so it became the proper translation in the malay language.
*
so it actually is due to translation?

imo, this is not proper.
just like if you trying to translate bible for chinese, you shouldn't use "guan ying" or "dian ti" as the supreme-whoever in the christian, it's just wrong.

the "special" term, are reserved specifically for that particular faith.

thank you for clearing up. at least now i know it's due to translation, ease for native to adopt, but it's not the origin/proper term.

Ah don't get fooled by the local propaganda.

The word "Allah" predates Islam.

Which means before Islam existed, Arabic already use the word allah to refer to God.

I'm not interested in islam.

let specifically focus on the question, is that word should be "used" in "proper" christian preaching/teaching?

or i can change this question to another context:
does christian in western countries, such as europe/us/aus, use that word in their religion?
