The destruction of the temple and signs of the end times

24 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 ‘Do you see all these things?’ he asked. ‘Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.’

3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. ‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?’

4 Jesus answered: ‘Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, “I am the Messiah,” and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumours of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth-pains.

9 ‘Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

15 ‘So when you see standing in the holy place “the abomination that causes desolation,”[a] spoken of through the prophet Daniel – let the reader understand – 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20 Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great distress, unequalled from the beginning of the world until now – and never to be equalled again.

22 ‘If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, “Look, here is the Messiah!” or, “There he is!” do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you in advance.

26 ‘So if anyone tells you, “There he is, out in the desert,” do not go out; or, “Here he is, in the inner rooms,” do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28 Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

29 ‘Immediately after the distress of those days

‘“the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.”[cool.gif
30 ‘Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[c] will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.[d] 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

32 ‘Now learn this lesson from the fig-tree: as soon as its twigs become tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[e] is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Peter addresses the crowd

14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: ‘Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 ‘“In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.”[c]
22 ‘Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,[d] put him to death by nailing him to the cross. 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. 25 David said about him:

‘“I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest in hope,
27 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
you will not let your holy one see decay.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence.”[e]
29 ‘Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,

‘“The Lord said to my Lord:
‘Sit at my right hand
35 until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.’”[f]
36 ‘Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.’

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, ‘Brothers, what shall we do?’

38 Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptised, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off – for all whom the Lord our God will call.’

40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, ‘Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.’ 41 Those who accepted his message were baptised, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Acts 2:14-40 (NIVUK)

again i found something that is worthy to say about prophetjul ignorance

Concerning spiritual gifts

12 Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to dumb idols. 3 Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, ‘Jesus be cursed,’ and no one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit.

4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

Unity and diversity in the body

12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptised by[c] one Spirit so as to form one body – whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free – and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 And so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

15 Now if the foot should say, ‘Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, ‘Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,’ it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21 The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I don’t need you!’ And the head cannot say to the feet, ‘I don’t need you!’ 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honourable we treat with special honour. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honour to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues[d]? Do all interpret? 31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts.

1 Corinthians 12 1 - 27 (NIVUK)

Anyone here who goes to a church where they handout slips asking for your credit card details to tithe and make donations?

The encouragement to ask people to use credit cards is already sooo wrong when there are pastors whom in know in Malaysia coming from foreign countries with Dr titles having chauffer driven and living in posh bangalows in some of the most expensive districts in the capital city.
*
that tithe in CC is very normal in modern world as most modern churches today has practised it already

as for your question about pastors who is rich and being driven around by chauffer and living in posh bangalows, that is not for us to judge............For the Judgement belong to God alone...........

You can discern a true motives of a pastor through their sermons and speeches. Their words reveal their thoughts. Having spent millions on a wife's song album God-ly?
Blessed?
*
As UW, pointed out, on that matter we are not to judge, and we do not know the whole story as you and me are not even the members of the church, i decline to say anything about it...........i do discuss this matter with my friend before he said this back to me "who are you to judge?"

Judgement belong to God solely, and the case is still ongoing in the court who know if he really guilty or not?

If you feel disturbed on this matter, pray to God for guidance smile.gif

No one is judging anyone here. Wisdom is the ability to discern false prophets.

I thank God that he gave me the ability to discern the true motives and intentions of those who preaches in church. Amen

Luke 12:57 (NKJV)

57 “Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV)

6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of your God,
I also will forget your children.

Isaiah 11:2-3 (NKJV)

2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

3 His delight is in the fear of the Lord,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
*
if that so, do refrain from speaking about it in the public for by doing so it make you look like a desperate person who is having a personal grudges against the said person instead pray to the Lord for the pastor to repent, whatever he did in the church that is not your concern, it's the members of that church to decide............you can only pray

while i am at it, you should listen to sermon of pastor Nick Vujicic live right now at DUMC.

Remember to beware of prosperity gospel.

I went to CCC the other day and there was a speaker called Cho Yonggi and he said that prosperity gospel is biblical and God wants you to be rich.

This is wrong. God will reward us, but no in this life. Our reward is in heaven.

I have met many people who are angry with the church because they were told that they would become rich if they just had faith.
*
prosperity does exist in real life too, God reward us not only with riches but in other form of prosperity as well

Good day everyone!

I have a little conversation to share here, it's posted from my friend in facebook news feed.
What do u think of what he had said?
*
Jesus once said, The days and hours are unknown, which could be meaning saying that we will not know who is going to heaven and who is not

but Jesus also said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life........no one goes to the Father except thru me"

John 3:16 say "For God so loved the world that he sent His only Son that whoever believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life"

Jesus also say, "in my Father House, there is many rooms, i am going back there to prepare the rooms for you".

Do not challenge and use God's name in vain. There is a limit.

It is because of such allowance and soft stances that many of today's churches are getting destroyed and corrupted. They are compromising on church rules for the sake of increasing the size of congregation without realizing the risks involve.

It is these sort of churches that are emerging in the US that are slowly opening up the house of worship to gay marriage acceptance and lucriferian members because they are slowly becoming thirsty for more membership numbers.

Why is membership so important that many modern day churches are slowly compromising their traditional strict rules? Simply admit it.

You need MONEY to fund your lavish lifestyles and your megachurch operations. They insists that you need to tithe at least 10% of your income to your church or else you're robbing GOD of his blessings. Tell that to the masters of pyramid marketing.

Just imagine, if you're a church CEO with a congregation of a few thousand with each member giving tithes of 10% of their income obediently on average to your organization. You'll be one of the most cunning businessman ever!
*
10% of your total income for tithe is not necessary a must but out of your heart will, my salary is less than 1.5k every month after epf and sosco deductions, i still have other commitments too so after deducting everything, i actually tithe more than 10%, as i said it is up to your heart will

Can you prove this serious accusation with any black and white facts to back your statement?

Which "brainwashed believer" are you referring to in specific?

If you can't I suggest, you keep this type of opinion to yourself.

STOP GIVING GENERALIZE OPINION THAT AMOUNTS TO NOTHING BUT HATRED TOWARDS CHRISTIANS & CHURCHES.

LEARN TO RESPECT CHURCHES ARE INSTITUTIONALIZE BY GOD NOT MAN.

LEARN THAT EVERY CHURCH HAS A LEADER AND YOU ARE TO SUBMIT TO THAT AUTHORITY WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE BODY OF CHRIST AND YOU FORGET THAT CHRIST IS THE HEAD.

EVERYTIME YOU CRITICIZE SOMEONE IN AUTHORITY REALIZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT YOU ARE ALSO CRITICIZING GOD WHO PUT THE PERSON IN PLACE.

LEARN THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL OF HIS BODY OF CHRIST NOT YOU!

LEARN YOUR PLACE IN THE BODY OF CHRIST AND DON'T CROSS THE LINE BY BABBLING AS YOU WISH!
