this gunpla noob here needs help. I had some nib marks on my strike freedom wings...so i touched up with black marker (taught by 1 friend) and somehow it ended up worse. so i used nail file to sand it down. Good thing is that the nib is not so bad now...kinda flat...but the color is totally off ! i think the plastic has lost its glossiness ...and looks somewhat dull. can anyone tell me what to do? i'm thinking to get those tamiya polishing compound coarse and fine, to apply it. not sure if it helps since i've never used before. just googled and saw someone did that. the shop i went to...er....price ok but the guy not very helpful to a noob like me. :| also, anyone knows where to find those 1200grit sandpaper? can find in Ace Hardware? Thanks a lot people. p/s...i'm using the FILE provided in the Tamiya Basic Modelling toolset. |

QUOTE(Parody @ Jul 3 2011, 02:17 PM) You could usually tell from the quality (sculpt & paintjob), box finish, the missing holographic stickers, and most of the time the unusually cheap price. Unless you have the genuine version side by side with the fake, it would be difficult for newbies to tell them apart. thanks man. You can find a list of available bootlegs here. Or if you have a specific PVC figure you'd like to ask, kindly do so in the PVC Figures thread. Your friend is not wrong in asking you to touch up with markers, provided they're the right type and right color. Polishing compound or most acrylic-based floor polish should do the trick. Any more questions, i suggest you do it in this thread. |
