Hi guys, do pool tables require much maintenance?

i heard there is a need to constantly change the pool table cloth/surface, and service the underneath as balls eventually get stuck below...

What is the cost of these maintenance?

Checking in with the moderators of this forum section - May I know why has my poll been moved to the Kopitiam Section?

Thread in question: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=23&t=4240726

I would like to kindly request that the mods move my thread back to this section. The reasons for this, imho:

1) The poll was started specifically in the hobby section as I would like to see how many hobbyists actually know about 3D printing
2) I really doubt all the peeps here actually visit Kopitiam; and if every single one did, it may not be all the time. The poll will be lost in the deluge of posts that Kopitiam generates every minute. By this time, my thread should already been in page 6 or 7.
3) I do strongly believe that most here don't check the services section either, where I have posted an actual advertisement and a short write up. I believe most here would be visiting the Garage Sales and Trade sections instead.

Although my account does not reflect it, I have been in LYN for a long time hence, yes, I know the rules. The thread is not for advertising. smile.gif After the poll has been completed by the end of the week, I was thinking of putting up a post that helps educate members here on what is 3D printing (again, not for advertising). Some people here may not know what it is, or know what it is but is hesitant to use the service as they are scared of getting scammed. I am hoping to give some basic details so peeps don't get scammed.

notworthy.gif I really hope the mods reconsider and reinstate my thread back to this section notworthy.gif

not my section but i'll just chime in abit.
the fact that u had to create a 'commercial' account along with the signature involved just to supposedly ask about 3d printing, instead of just using ur old 2003 account already shows that some form of advertising is already involved.

anyway, if u want the thread can be moved elsewhere say 'serious kopitiam' instead where traffic is much less but also less stupid replies.

May as well post on my main account then, since you guys can see all related accounts. Heard there was a data crash? The registration date is definitely wrong for my account haha.

I did that for several reasons, most notably to keep business and personal matters separate. But again, with you bringing up my '2003' account, I guess there is no point to that now since some curious members will definitely try to dig.

HOW would you bring attention to a service which can benefit a community, but NOT advertise or NOT remotely look like advertising? I understand the logic of not allowing advertisements (and I am referring to straight up [WTS], direct, kind of advertisements). Since you know of this account means you should know that I was an admin before and I have been through crap last time in terms of regulating forums. I admit that posting with my business account definitely makes the post reek of it being an advertisement, but same can be said if I post up any works which I have done using that account on any of the threads here. My branding is not 'Clicks'. My branding is my company, hence posting on that account. Yes, that IS a registered company. If you want to do a business, do it professionally. I aim to be around for the long haul.

Another thing - I don't collect Gunpla. I don't collect historical war miniatures. I don't collect figurines. The only possible tie I have to the forum will be Warhammer 40k, but is there a point putting up works I do featuring Warhammer 40k when more than half the community doesn't even give a hoot about it nor even look at the thread? However, the thing I am doing WILL benefit those communities. I won't directly advertise - stuff like: HEY I DO 3D PRINTING PLX CONTACT ME K - stuff like that warrants a ban and I certainly won't complain if you go through the due process when that happens. Heck, I will even do a public apology.

We are dealing with a world which evolves and technology improves every day. We are in a tech forum ffs. If I find a revolutionary cooling system and I got offered a contract to bring it into Malaysia, where is the first place I should place it in? Garage sales? Yeah, so I don't get banned. Second place? Kopitiam? You joking? I would definitely post in the tech section and the sequence will go like this:

QUOTE
Hey guys, I found a new way of cooling! Check out this link -> blah blah dot com (legit link with reviews and stuff)

OH HEY THAT IS DAMN COOOL. Where can I get one?

Hehe... I am selling it, PM me for price!

(THIS IS A HYPOTHETICAL SITUATION)

BAM! The fella gets reported and the thread gets junked. A very possible situation. Let's say he does not say he is selling it, he asks the fella to check PM. Several PMs later, some jealous ppl then complains that he is 'advertising' the product. Thread closed.

Please, let me know what you think. If you want to take this to PMs, I would be happy to but you guys should work out a system to manage grey areas like these. Our economy is already sad enough as it is without having even more red tape on ground level just to make us competitive again.

tl;dr - Yes, in a way I am bitching about the system. If you want to judge me, please be fair and at least read the above first.

Edited in a disclaimer that the part in the random quote above is a hypothetical situation. It is not my intention to refer to anyone or anything, dead or alive. It may happen though. Or have happened before.

erm.... hmm.gif
Actually... this Hobbies, Collectibles and Model Kits...
If take seriously, only for ppl sharing models working progress,
collectibles photos sharing, hobbies news info sharing... that all I think...
If relate on selling stuff even it was models selling,
it should be go to Garage Sales of course, no matter what reason is...
https://forum.lowyat.net/GarageSales

For the 3D printing or 3D printer poll, only my opinion what I see is...
It will a very good discussion on Forum's Computers section.
https://forum.lowyat.net/Computers
Cuz it more relate to computer cuz it must use computer to operate it for sure.
It also was a new rise up tech that should be more ppl know at there.

Anyway all of it juz my opinion, no harm or hatter. Good Luck for posting threads in future. thumbsup.gif

*Edit:
BTW, if the 3D printing is about to sharing printing modelling it can be sharing on this section I think.

Opinion appreciated bro. Although from your post, again I believe a lot here don't really know about 3D printing...

Anyways, I hope the mods think about what I said. Please don't take my earlier posts the wrong way.

*sigh* My poll can't be found even on page 10. cry.gif
