Dear.taikos

I had a.pc with  amd 5600x and 3080 on a  Seasonic 850w platinum

https://seasonic.com/platinum-xp2-xp3 ; bought probably 5 yrs ago

Question : my PC randomly shutdown ... Sometimes when in Ms Teams and sometimes during gaming
I suspect it's PSU because it's shutdown instead reboot...

U guys think it's the PSU aging?

Oh man, I had a seasonic g dying on me last year and I thought it was weird. I hardly used my pc and only turn on less than 50 times a year. My kids starting to learn gaming on pc and after a few months, boom. I think I'm gonna avoid Seasonic PSU despite it's good reputations. I'm still running on an even older Antec PSU but looks like Antec no longer make PSU.

Seasonic does have good units though - PSU quality can vary wildly from brand to brand (even good brands have bad units, and vice versa) icon_idea.gif

It's not a good idea to single out an entire PSU brand just because you have bad experiences with them icon_idea.gif

Antec does still make PSUs though (although their quality is not as good as what they had back in the days, unless you buy their high end stuff) icon_idea.gif

I think maybe good as in stable power supply but I thought these should really last with the 50k hours rating on their capacitors.

Is EVGA GA any good? Cant find any reviews, but tempted because it's cheap, japanese capacitors and 10years warranty.
