I'm currently in the midst of building a rig with i5 processor, dual channel RAM and a GTX 760/R9 270 graphic card. I was thinking of Corsair VS650, or is VS550 suffice ? No intention of SLI or CrossFire near future, but maybe running 2-3 monitors later on.

VS550 is enough since GTX 760 didn't use much power, although I'm a little bit skeptical of its build quality ( take my words as a grain of salt ).

What do you mean by 'its build quality' ? You mean the GTX 760 build quality ?

The PSU..get Antec VP-550P 80+ Bronze RM199 instead..better. wink.gif Or the 650W version. *don't know the price,can't load the price list..*

Antec 650W is RM259. Seems like the price is more or less to Corsair VS650 RM229, but VS650 is single rail +12V. hmm.gif

The VS650 is actually a pretty good PSU, though it does come with lower tier capacitors (from the review of the 450W model), however the product is well warranted so I do not think it is much of an issue anyway. As for single or multiple rail, there has not been conclusive evidence that one is better than the other, so any would do. I am not sure what series is the Antec model you've mentioned, but the EarthWatts Platinum model is quite ok too. Alternatively, do also consider the FSP Raider which is around the same price range.

Antec previously mentioned was VP series. Regarding single or multiple rail, I understand that there are multiple rails PSU more reliable than single rail, but along the way, it has become somewhat personal preferences. I think I'd settled with FSP Raider 650. At the same price range, it offers higher efficiency, 80plus silver certified, and single rail +12V. Thank you. thumbup.gif
