QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Dec 30 2013, 02:33 PM) Nope, their V series are very good PSUs... The V700/V850/V1000 units are based on Seasonic's KM3 platform, which is the basis for Seasonic X series units. The Enhance-built VS series aren't bad as well... Mine having a 24pin connector too tight to fit in my mobo...

QUOTE(wcypierre @ Jan 4 2014, 05:36 PM) I've just looked up at the FSP Hexa 500W that is usually recommended here, and I saw this: "Capxon LP Primary capacitor". I thought that Capxon is not generally not recommended? http://forums.vr-zone.com/hardware-depot/1...r-supplies.htmlI guess it is for RM150, you can't complain much.

QUOTE(cloud97 @ Jan 13 2014, 11:02 AM) Hi sifus, any good recommended 750W gold certified PSU with semi-modular (or better fully modular as long as withind budget) under RM550 budget? Use to power up 2xgtx460 currently and future (SLI/CFX and moderate OC) and pc running 14+ hrs or more everyday. Thank you CM V700? It is a good PSU OEMed by Seasonic, and within your budget. It is more than enough to support your system. If you came across V750s, it is also acceptable, but it isn't OEMed by Seasonic. This post has been edited by Human10: Jan 13 2014, 11:30 AM

QUOTE(PfftClock @ May 4 2014, 02:03 PM) It's rather ambitious to expect a cheap price for that kind of quality. It's not bout the price, but the action of them trying to cheat consumer uninformed. http://itbbs.pconline.com.cn/diy/15309883.html

QUOTE(mikaelr @ May 8 2014, 01:21 AM) why for some reason i don't see much mentioning CM gold PSU? Last time silent pro gold quite gooding also. the V700 i got recently also doing great for my gtx660 SLI config. IINM, it is hard to find and rare as gold too, LOL. BTW, V700 is highly reputable and recommendable PSU, reliable OEM and high efficiency + nice price (700W one albeit overpriced a little somehow). But if you looking for 1000W PSU, CM V1000 probably the best bang for bucks. This post has been edited by Human10: May 8 2014, 01:26 AM

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ May 19 2014, 05:16 PM) Some interesting findings on the Cooler Master VS series units. In the TechPowerUp review, the V550S has Su'scon and Teapo caps on the secondary. However, when this unit is launched in the US, the press release showed: Then I emailed Cooler Master's support team for confirmation and they confirmed that all retail versions of the VS series use 100% Japanese capacitors. BTW, Idealtech has brought in an improved version of the GXII, called the GX II Pro, and the 750W variant only cost RM359 (RM319 on offer)... not a bad price tag after all... Brb, disassembling mah V750S and looking for chance to sue CM. JK. This post has been edited by Human10: May 19 2014, 05:19 PM

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ May 19 2014, 05:19 PM) Post pic later to prove... JK. Don't want waste the warranty... BTW, here another review, also seems to be using the Teapo/Suscon... http://power.yesky.com/power/129/36203629all.shtml p/s: Another review showing the Teapo http://www.itocp.com/htmls/02/n-5302-6.htmlp/s2: This guy's retail unit also same as what being reviewed by techpowerup, time to label CM as penipu scammer? http://bbs.pceva.com.cn/thread-111480-1-1.htmlThis post has been edited by Human10: May 19 2014, 06:15 PM

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Aug 7 2014, 05:18 PM) The new Cooler Master V750 with 100% Japanese caps: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/CoolerM...r/VSM750/4.htmlPanasonic capacitors as the main hold up capacitors, with Chemi-con, Rubycon, Suncon (Sanyo) electrolytic capacitors. There's also an Unicon polymer capacitor on the PSU as well. Unicon is a lesser known manufacturer of capacitors for your information. http://www.unielecs.com/keireki/keireki.HTMLEL, they rebrand the VS750/V750S as V750 now?

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Nov 10 2014, 02:43 AM) Just made aware FSP Raiders are available in both Bronze and Silver 80-Plus rated. The pricing is not fixed for both items, some vendor sells the old Bronze model higher that the Silver. Although I don't pay too much attention on the 80-Plus thing but I still want to get the best out of my bucks. I think the 650W silver rated at RM250+/- is the best bang for bucks. p/s: Just checked Viewnet's pricelist... LOL, what? RM269? I still remember my friend bought it few months ago at Viewnet only sub RM250 what... This post has been edited by Human10: Nov 10 2014, 06:54 AM

QUOTE(goldfries @ Nov 23 2014, 08:33 PM) Even a 300w would suffice for that, get a good 400w would work just fine. can try the FSP Hexa 450w / 550. Antec VP400 is an acceptable entry PSU too. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/ant...ply-review/1487Also it is probably the cheapest (RM109) too. QUOTE(ahgan91 @ May 15 2015, 08:51 AM) Thanks for your advise... if buy around.600watts will it cause to any part ? Sorry for the noob question No, power supply is a thing of capacity. More won't do any harm. Another thing to clarify here is bigger wattage power supply don't consume the rated wattage at all time. For example you using a 1kW PSU doesn't mean you consuming 1kW at all time. It just mean your PSU now can support power consumptions up to 1kW before being over limit (which generally shut down by itself as a safety measure).

QUOTE(kliang87 @ Jun 18 2015, 06:53 PM) Ya, i read alot forum and people say bout this series are the bad 1. I brought this power supply many years ago, so i think time to change, FSP Hexa+550W should b ok? It is OK, but again, we don't recommend high end GPU with low end PSU. If your budget permit, better get higher tier PSU.

QUOTE(win44 @ Sep 5 2015, 11:37 AM) The Q&A thread was closed, so I ask here: I see my motherboard has two ATX power cables. One is 24pin, another is 8 pin. Does that mean my motherboard requires me to plug 8pin also? Mobo requires that much voltage ah... I think you mean the EPS 4+4 pins for CPU? Yeah, the normal configuration is 4 pins or 8 pins for high end mobo which expected to be overclocked heavily. In short, whether you should plug in 4 pins or 8 pins depend on the CPU configuration. Power guzzle and heavy overclocked probably need the 8 pins.

QUOTE(win44 @ Sep 5 2015, 03:57 PM) Oh, i see. I found the 8 pin coming from my psu. I thought i would have to go buy one. Thanks! Yeah, but just to be sure not to mix up it with PCIE 8pins. They are different and shouldn't even fit physically, but who know, just to be safe and extra careful. This post has been edited by Human10: Sep 5 2015, 04:01 PM
