For those having heating problems, the left side of the keyboard is the most used area for gaming(normally).

Nostromo best choice for gaming while going out, so light and it looks awesome with the lights. But the part where you have to setup the interface to work with every single game you have is tiring.

Just wondering, to other y580 users, how high is your comp's cpu and gpu temp during idle and gaming? Do you find it normal? I am considering throttling my cpu or something sometimes.

Is it safe to open the back cover and let the air in or static/dust might be worse for the comp?
*
My processor idle at 52-60C.
Dead Space 3 and Battlefield 3 around 80C
Dota 2 around 86C

EDITS: This was before I got my CM U3, haven't test cooler with gaming yet.

Tried out Crysis 3 on my Y580 last night, was getting good fps on 1920x1080 with medium settings until I walked up to one of the windows and it had a slight fps drop. Looking good on my lappy though, sadly what Crysis 3 did was just take the engine from Crysis 2 and add LOADS OF particles.

Why have to unplug battery? hmm.gif

I remember reading up on some bug that occurs when you have your battery in, it tries to utilize the battery to power your hardware instead of direct or something like that, read it up on another forum a while ago.

I could be wrong...

Hey guys need some help here.

I just got the Y400 yesterday. Tried playing CS:GO and DCUO but it looks very laggy. Then I decided to connect the laptop to my TV and it looks great.

How come it looks so different when I use the TV? And what can I do to make the game look better on my laptop screen?
*
-Switch power plan to "Lenovo Dynamic Graphics"
-Plug laptop into socket
-Remove battery.
-Make sure Nvidia's card being used instead of Intel's built-in card.

Is your game working well with Tessellation and TreeFX? Nvidia cards all got problem right now.

How do I make sure Nvidia's card is being used instead of Intel's built-in card?

How to switch on SLi?

Sry noob here. Don't know much about all this stuff.
*
Right click Nvidia Control Panel on bottom right taskbar -> Properties -> Find the option to use High Performance Graphics Processor or something like that(I can't remember exactly, not on my laptop right now)

SLi can't help you cause I'm using Y580, but the option should be in-game. Can someone clarify?

Installed Tomb Raider and DmC on my Y580.

Tomb Raider not having really good fps on 1920x1080 with or without TreesFX. But with TreesFX on I can get decent fps on 1366x768.

DmC working well on mixture of High and Ultra.
