L1010 is the cheapest Fujitsu with dedicated graphics card, however this model is made in China instead of made in Japan.

Confirmed U1010 cannot upgrade to 2GB RAM although single microDIMM is available due to chipset not supporting more than 1GB of RAM & the RAM is soldered on motherboard

Officially on Intel's white paper for 945GU (with A100 & A110 processor) chipset only supports up to 1GB 400MHz DDR2 RAM. Unofficially wise it is not known for the U1010/U810 but chances are very unlikely, although there are similar UMPC with the same chipset able to use up 2GB but on sodimm instead. This is not to mention taking out the particular RAM which soldered on the chipset itself (google up to see how it looks like). However thus far I had never seen nor come across anyone proven successfully to upgrade the U1010/U810 with 2GB DDR2 microdimm.

just got the u2010 with 3.5G. Beautiful device....will need a couple of days to get use to it...a couple of questions

1)anyone knows where can I get 1.8 pata zif ssd drives in malaysia?
2)where i can get drivers for the sierra wireless mc8780 for ubuntu?
3) ubuntu 9.04 or Win 7 ?

vista on u2010 is really pushing it.....takes a real genius to put vista into a atom device...smile.gif

Forget about getting 1.8" SSD in Malaysia. Heck even 1.8" HDD also very rare. I have a Samsung 64GB ZIF SSD on my current U1010 3.5G now. I am willing to take out for sale. How much you are willing to pay for this novelty? PM me your offer.

Difference is significant since the stock 1.8" HDD is only 4200rpm, but the major No.1 hold back for the U1010 & U2010 is the puny 1GB RAM.
