Sent my 620 to nokia care. Was told to wait up to 2 weeks if no spare parts. Since 620 so new, most likely no spare parts doh.gif

10 days old phone. 2 weeks waiting period. ridiculous

Multi touch not registering correctly if I'm not charging the phone. I'll just paste the post I posted earlier in another thread.

When it is charging, the screen registers up to 10 touch points perfectly.

When it is not charging, the screen will register single touch point just fine.
It is barely able to register two points. When I tried 3 points, it is all over the place. 4 touch points is total fail.

I used several multi touch test app to test and they all gives the same result.

I post a link here for one of the app that is available in msian store(no need switch region to dl)
http://www.windowsphone.com/en-my/store/ap...b1-dd809a89f49f

You guys can download the app and test your lumia 620s

kenjixx and reshbala helped me to test.

Verified that theirs no problem.
You can download the app and test your screen too.

So now it's waiting time for me. Kinda frustrated that I cannot replace the phone. It's only 10 days old for god sake. The waiting time is more than the days I got the phone.

LOL I wrote an email to Stephen Elop and he (most likely it's actually his staff) replied.

If they fixed it then I'm still ok. Now I'm worried that their technician just test with the cable plugged in. Then they will report that nothing is wrong. Though I specifically said n written that need cable unplugged

i just tested my black L620 and mine also have same problem like yours. sad.gif
let me know if your problem has solve if you already send to ncc.
*
Yours is okay when charging and is spotty when not charging too?

QUOTE(arthur_91 @ Jan 21 2013, 09:49 PM)
The good people from 1 gadget reconfirmed that the price of 620 with rebate is RM599 =)

and also, to those facing the multi touch issues, i believe its really a manufacturing defect, due to the fact that in the engadget windows phone 8 review this was mentioned:

Multi-touch capacitive touch screen with minimum of four simultaneous points

http://www.engadget.com/2012/10/29/windows-phone-8-review/
*
reshbala and kenjixx tested that it can actually detect up to 10 points (reshbala couldn't fit more than 7 fingers). When the cable is plugged in, I'm able to register 10 points correctly too. I don't have more than 10 fingers so I cannot test more. laugh.gif

QUOTE(happy_berry @ Jan 21 2013, 09:55 PM)
on what occasion would you use multi touch points of four??
*
The problem is even pinch and zoom is spotty. When I pinch and zoom, sometimes it is detected as 3 points , 1 point or even 0 point. Most of the time it is 2 points though.
While we seldom use multi touch of 4 points, I do play games that require multi touches and I use two fingers from each hand. Only a handful of games though.

You can only choose from the list of preset tones

yes it happen like that.

Hmm, then I'm not alone with this problem. This should be some manufacturing defect. BTW, where did you buy it from? Maybe we got the same batch.

EDIT: I got mine from lowyat roadshow on the very first day it is available. 10th January.

I PM-ed you my IMEI. I'm trying to find whether I have a serial number or not on the box.

The roadshow & lowyat first floor is both Hello Station. Stock should come from the same place.

Our IMEI is 276 units apart which is quite close. Usually printed circuit board factories print PCBs in lots, usually 60 pieces per lot. In one big PCB where smaller PCBs are cut from, it usually contain 10-20 circuits. Most likely we are from the same lot.

Hmm, where should we go from here?

EDIT: It's also troubling that as much as 276 or more units might be affected. Check your 620s!

Hi, is this phone good so far? I'm going to get it very soon.

I read from the previous posts stating about the multi touch input problem, is it serious? two fingers pinch ok?

How about the camera? are there any sample night photo that i can refer?

Thanks.

nokia acknowledge the problem?

I've demo-ed the problem to them. I don't know whether they acknowledged the problem or not. The staff there wasn't very helpful.

You bought yours from lowyat too?
When you perform 2 points touch and move, does it jump around? Mine does sometimes. 3 points always jump around.

Just test the multi touch on the spot. I think it's not very widespread since not many users are affected

For those people who are having multi touch issues, you can either

1. Live with it.
2. Send to Nokia Care and face endless misery. My phone is with them for more than a month now. Still no ETA.

Also, I have the multiple clock flash, yes I had it too. LOL

Workaround was restarting. It's annoying, but I could live with it.
I couldn't live with the multi touch problem. I can't even pinch and zoom properly.
