for those having multi touch problem, can you guys plug in one end of the charging cable to the phone and hold the other end with your fingers?

It means you're not charging the phone. Is the multi touch working? Some has reported that the multi touch works if you do that.

If more people confirms this, then it can be concluded that the hardware is faulty and this is not something that a software update could fix.

EDIT:
This appears to be a widespread problem. Some people has reported that it happens on every single 620 that he can lay his hands on.

Man.That sure sounds scary.Any chance they gonna do a total recall?

My phone is with them for more than a month now and still counting. What do you think?

Yeah u are right, as long as the charger port is plug in cable, multi touch works.

Anyone can test for me the Smart Shoot function ? My smart shoot cant work.

This means that this is almost certainly a design flaw or a manufacturing defect.

So your unit is not affected? Good for you. rclxms.gif

Is every single L620 affected by the multi touch bug? Or has it been addressed in the newer batch? Thought of getting one in the next couple of days. Would suck big time if it's plagued by the same bug.
*
It happens to quite a lot of forumers and it happened to people in UAE, UK, Philippines etc etc. So the problem is quite widespread.

Many people would not notice the problem because
1. Two points multi touch works most of the time. People would not be suspicious when it occasionally doesn't work.
2. Most apps don't use more than 2 points multi touch.
3. Most people that buy 620 are not the budget conscious, parents, girls. These people don't play a lot of games.
4. Because it's a phone for the budget conscious, the less tech savvy people would not have think that the phone is faulty.
5. The problem requires very specific steps to replicate.

I suspect that a lot of units are affected. One guy in the nokia discussions forum said that it happened on EVERY 620 that he can lay his hands on. rclxub.gif

So when its not charging the multi touch bug appears?will u be able to zoom in and out?
*
Zooming sometimes produce weird behaviours (it jumps). Most of the time(I think 90%), it works without problems.

It only happens when the phone is not plugged to the cable, which is like most of the time LOL.

Then Nokia should recall that guy. I'm one of those old school boys that uses one finger. Sometimes did pinch with two to resize stuff in the browser. I had no problem at all. Yet I wonder if this is why the product launch in India has been so delayed?
*
I use one finger most of the time too. I only use two fingers to zoom & play games.
It is while I'm playing games that I noticed weird behaviors. I was playing some old nes games using vneslight. I couldn't move properly while shooting/jumping.

Holy fak, my phone suddenly shut down and it wouldn't even turn on! I did tried charging it bu nothing happened. You know what I eventually did, pulled out the battery and then plugging it back and then turned it on...

Why is this happening? Is it because of the battery or the OS/ app??
*
Does it show charging icon when you plug in the charger?

I installed "TouchTest" and I noticed that something is not right compared to my old HTC Mozart.

At first I thought it is program incompatibility or some software problem. But after pay a visit to here, then only I know that there are a lot other users also faced same problem...

BTW, is the autofocus locking functioning "normally"? Cause I noticed that my unit always failed to lock focus (I tried on macro) accurately.
*
Wow, yet another victim. So what are you going to do? Live with it?

Not sure, being worry that if RMA it will took forever like your case, so I guess better live with it till Nokia or Nokia.MY come out with a solution to it. mad.gif

BTW, do your unit having the autofocus lock problem like what I mentioned just now? It is like the camera is focusing, but it didn't stop at the sharpest point but always off-focus. This make almost all the picture I taken blurry... rolleyes.gif

I think more people need to make more noise. Otherwise they will never improve.

I can't remember whether mine has that autofocus issue or not. Did you touch the screen to snap or press the camera button?
