QUOTE(allenultra @ Mar 10 2006, 07:25 PM) Don't know why, most of friends and seniors prefer NTU over NUS for engineering.
NTU engineering is known for their tough workload. IN fact, companies in Singapore prefer NTU grad as they are better in practical aspects. With compulsory Industrial Attachment, most grad were offered jobs even b4 they had graduated. From the graduate survey of batch 2005, NTU grad command an avg of $2.6K compared to NUS grad which is $2.5K In NTU, the workload is heavy and tedious that u can always hear students from NTU failing exam but seldom from NUS.

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Mar 9 2006, 06:39 PM) Hi, i planning to get into sg uni and taking tuition grant to support my tuition fee there. I am currently Form 5, i looking forward to biomedical engineering, biotech and petrol chemical engineering. Is there any good Uni to recommend? And where should i take my A-level if i wanted to go into sg uni? Is that getting into the uni in sg hard? getting into NUS chem engine is extremely difficult. What I heard is AAA GP B3 and above are accepted.

Ur university results has nothing to do with the hostel application. Both are mutually exclusive. All freshmen are guaranteed a room in their first yr. From second yrs onwards, it's based on balloting.

Singapore students usually take these routes to university
1) Primary->Secondary->Junior College (A Level 2 yrs) -> University 2) Primary->Secondary->Polytechnic (3 yrs) -> University
If a singapore student do badly for Alevel, he can either retake A level or join polytechnic to pursue a diploma.
It's not easy to enter uni with diploma as sg uni mostly allocated their vacancies for JC students and sg unis rather offered scholarships for China and Indian students. That's why a lot of poly students in Singapore are complaining lack of vacancies for them, resulting them going for further studies overseas.
AS long you get Top 5% for diploma, it's 90% guaranteed u are able to enter sg uni.

I have a question
Is SPTM easier or difficult than Singapore A Level?
