QUOTE(maximR @ Sep 18 2013, 05:52 PM) Use the right hand grip rule to determine the polarity of the solenoid . Current points downwards , so your fingers must point downwards . Your thumb faces the right hand side , so P is north . Due to Lenz's Law , X should also be north , since the direction of induced current is always such that its magnetic field opposes the original change of magnetic flux . But they didn't say whether the soft iron core is pushed in or pulled out...dosen't this affect?And also, if the soft iron core induces the current in the solenoid, why a battery is used then? |

QUOTE(maximR @ Sep 18 2013, 06:19 PM) Recall that e.m.f and subsequently , induced current is generated in the soft iron core when a changing magnetic flux is applied when the solenoid is switched on . Oh I see....I think I understand now, thank you so much!I think I didn't mention about soft iron core inducing a current in the solenoid . I should take Chinese during form 4, at least I know if I really can't score, I can drop it during form 5. but sadly, I never tried before, I kinda regret now:(
I didn't take because I thought 9 subjects is already a huge burden, can afford to study another subject |

My previous teacher recommends us to give extra for EVERY single question, if it asks for 2, give 3(add you own iii there), but some teachers seem to be not accepting the extra nilai we give, she thinks it's not fair. Different teachers seem to have different ways of marking the paper. My current teacher don't mark the third nilai if we got correct for the first and second, he also don't mark the third essay I did, which is quite different from my previous teachers, who marks everything.
What do your teacher say? Do he/she allow extra answers? Btw, nilai rasional is usable in every single question for my trials. This post has been edited by kangaroo96: Sep 20 2013, 07:07 PM |

QUOTE(Heartnsoul @ Sep 20 2013, 07:09 PM) Ya I did that too, I gave 3 nilai for all 3, but he didn't mark the third one(maybe it's because my first and second are correct)But there was a moral teacher who came to our school and gave us ceramah, she told us to answer all three, same us what my previous teacher told me. My current teacher said examiners will not bother to read the third essay, although we didn't get full mark for the first and second, is that true? |

QUOTE(Heartnsoul @ Sep 21 2013, 04:54 PM) Wow, your essays, especially the Bahagian B was amazing. The answer is C.May I know how much time you spent on both parts? reading the blog, I like it Anyways, this question came up during my trials in Sejarah P1 : Sejak Zaman Maurys, pelbagai jenis cukai dikenakan terhadap hasil perdagangan. Hasil cukai tersebut digunakan untuk: A membuka sekolah baru B membina kubu pertahanan C membayar gaji anggota tentera D meningkatkan kemudahan di peabuhan Anyone knows the answer for this? I looked through my buku rujukan but it was not mentioned and I dont have F4 textbook The sentence in the textbook: Cukai ini adalah untuk menyara anggota tentera, para pentadbir dan raja. |

This is why it's important to read both. The first time I normally read the textbook, then my reference book. At the same time, I'll add points which are not included in the reference book.
I can say the textbook is a mess in terms of point organisation so I just read once, it makes me feel headache. |

I think it's also because my teacher marked quite lenient, she ignored minor spelling mistakes, and there was one entire structure question asking about KBKK question(basic knowledge of PMR+KBKK).

QUOTE(maximR @ Sep 26 2013, 09:21 PM) Pretty well , perhaps ? Constant preparation for Sejarah though . Nearly done with Biology, which is a relief , now all I have to do for the science subjects are the experiments . Need to practice more for A.M P2 , and get my butt off to read E.A as time will be running out . We'll have Negeri Sembilan Gerak Gempur next week . Ughhh . Not sure what to feel . On one hand I feel that it'll be a good practice , on another , I want to spend these weeks with my friends --- it'll be the last with them , in school . This really demotivates me...one more month By the way , sorry for not replying to your queries ; do you mind posting them here if you could ? After the trials results were announced , I thought I would be free for a while , but no , I had to print trial papers , share mine with friends from other schools and deal with teachers about a few things . |

QUOTE(manutd96 @ Oct 3 2013, 03:57 PM) In physics, for potential energy, must we specify if its elastic or gravitational PE or just write potential energy, especially for questions on energy change I'm not sure but it's better to specify. It isn't that hard to differentiate them after all, there is a very distinctive difference between them. |

QUOTE(Heartnsoul @ Oct 3 2013, 07:21 PM) Might as well write it just to be safe. I squeezed 9 pages into a page for objective questions hahahaI can get photostats at 5 cents per piece, printing is more expensive. By the way, have 2 pages per paper. The question paper give like 2 questions per page(or even 1) is such a waste of paper. |

for Q9 is it a very direct question where Pressure = Depth x Density x 9.8
P = 0.7 x 1000 x 9.8 = 6860 Pa? This post has been edited by kangaroo96: Oct 6 2013, 11:02 AM |
