If you said that you've flopped in Add Maths, then its kinda forgivable, but since you asked what will happen if you fail in Maths, then I guess......... SPM 2013 Thread

QUOTE(1insane @ Jun 14 2013, 05:37 PM) One question, how do u all memorize the qualitative analysis of salt? I find it quite hard to memorize that much stuffs Instead of just blindly memorize the sub-topic and coerce yourself to do it, why don't you try a way or two on how to fathom it. Try to refresh your memory by reading thoroughly for the first or second times. After that, make a simple short notes on the guidelines regarding the sub-topic, for example: identify various cations/anions by carrying out several confirmatory tests. Perhaps you can even underline/highlight the vital notes only to prevent yourself from drowning into several miscellaneous information that are irrelevant/unneeded that might muddle you, I often do that and it works just fine for me. On the side notes, if you still can't mentally grasp the information that you want to know or if you're in a quagmire, you should seek aid from friend or teachers and as well as surf the Net. There are lots of lots of tutoring videos(KhanAcademy,Edunation Malaysia,Msia Free Education) in the Net that you can find that will bring endless avail to you, just use it wisely and everything will be great. Learning can be really fun if you're able to twist your learning techniques. This post has been edited by RED-HAIR-SHANKS: Jun 14 2013, 11:44 PM |

QUOTE(Just Visiting By @ Jun 23 2013, 10:19 AM) Seriously? Your teachers teach so fast? Lol for Add.Maths I remembered my teacher taught until Trigonometry at July, which I thought was quite slow. Haha Fast? I don't think so, I've heard rumors spreading around by my class monitor that says that Penang Free School has completed the whole Add Maths syllabus. And another more insane thing is that my friend from a SBP says that he's going to cover up the whole Physic syllabus anytime now. Darn, I'm a slowpoke.... |

QUOTE(yewMP5 @ Jun 24 2013, 05:32 PM) it is so easy, the moment you see the paper you will smile, the more you continue to answer the paper you feel like wanna laugh in the exam hall cos it is impossible to not get A in those subject that you like (you work hard on). Ooo... Thanks for the explanation.somehow i still get C for History (Boring like for real) and Science in Pertanian (wtf right? my school forced us to take that thing) Others are just easy....all you need to do? Work hard, and study smart. (Wrk hard = do more practice) (Study smart = only study those that is important and see what had came out last year, your tuition teacher will do job for you probably ....) dont ever trust those LAST MINUTES TIPS 1 month before SPM ....all are bullshiieet, why i say this? ( been there done that...look at my Sejarah and you will know why I concur with you of the fact that History is by far the most boring subjects that we're compelled to learn, though I often ace it. Thanks for your advises, really appreciate it This post has been edited by RED-HAIR-SHANKS: Jun 24 2013, 05:48 PM |

QUOTE(maximR @ Jul 21 2013, 02:55 PM) Done with the entire SPM Physics syllabus . WOW, an impressive feat indeed All I can say is , HELL YEAH ! I'm going to use this as a motivation to finish the other subjects' syllabuses . English , for me can be considered done for , too . 8 more subjects to go . I'm so close to complete Maths . I'm in quagmire when it comes to my language subjects such as BM/BI. Frankly, I've got no problem on handling the komsas or literature part, but when it comes to essay/karangan, then it will be a whole different story All of the other subjects seems quite ok with me,I reckon Nevertheless, keep on going |

QUOTE(maximR @ Jul 22 2013, 07:21 PM) I don't know , buddy . Well done, you've just finish your Maths syllabus At this point in my life I have so many mixed emotions . I just finished Maths' syllabus yesterday . That leaves me with 7 more subjects . I agree with you about the language subjects , especially BM . I was once the most fast when it comes to finish reading literary works . Throughout form one to form three , I absolutely loved Cerpen and Sajak . I can still remember the rustic poem about a poet describing his dad sleeping on 'tikar mengkuang' , and the short story titled 'Rahsia' . I read the short story one afternoon , and it was raining -- similar to one scene in the story . Very haunting . Not anymore , sadly . I'm still not done with Dirgahayu Bahasaku and wasn't completely done with Harga Remaja . The problem lies in answering KBKK questions . I sometimes struggle to come up with simple answers for trivial questions like , ' Pada pendapat anda , mengapakah Raja Indera Bumaya tidak mahu berjumpa dengan Tuan Puteri Ratna secara berdepan , sebaliknya menjelma menjadi burung bayan dahulu ?' ( 3 marks ) I don't have problems with the novel part though . I really don't think you and your classmates should feel humiliated , really . What's important is you are able to finish your syllabus in time before the trials . ( it's also encouraging that you actually have classmates who are in pursuit of good results in SPM ) . As for Sejarah , yes , it's been stagnant for me too , sadly . You can't wait 'till the time comes ? Here , I'd like to get back to my initial line : I don't know , buddy . While a part of me is eager to finally leave school for college to study A-Levels , a bigger part of me is telling that I'll sorely miss these moments . I don't know about you , but secondary school has been a place where I'd made some truly great friends and experienced many sweet moments with them , I don't think I'll able to find better ones in college . It took us 5 years to really get to know each other and to form a close bond , and now we're finally about to leave . I'd definitely want to achieve my goal in SPM , but I wouldn't want to be so deep in preparation that I start to miss the moments that unveil around me . I'm also starting to worry as well . Trials ? 27th . Technically I have a month's time to finish everything . So many emotions running through my mind . I concur with you of the fact that KBKK seems to be the killer questions, be it in the BM Komsas part or in History. Your situations regarding answering those tricky questions kinda reminds me of mine in the mid-year test too, it hurts and I lost 3 to 4 marks for giving answers that are extremely irrelevant or superfluous Seriously, I don't know where to start. Things might be all jumbled up. Your experience is relate-able, I have went and still going through a lot ups and downs myself. But all in all, I'm glad of all of that, for I have forged countless of wonderful friendships with a variety of people by doing what I like and connecting it with the right people. It is quite a comfort to know that the people around me are here with me due to the fact that we share common interests, or are at the same level of peculiarity, or even just because we click. Dude, just hang in there. Regarding the Trials, I reckon I'm gonna start to pull an all-nighters to finish covering up my Form 5 syllabus as well as refreshing my memory on the Form 4. Literally it's roughly about one month time for me but technically, its way more less than that, considering the fact that I often procrastinate on completing the growing pile of my schoolwork |

QUOTE(chun96 @ Jul 25 2013, 08:56 PM) Textbook is extremely essential not only in BM Komsas, but in other subjects as well. Most of the questions that're gonna pop up in the examination are inter-related with the textbook, albeit the fact that most of the time we use our favoured revision books to add our knowledge and information in what we have learned due to the fact that revision books mostly contains lots of cramming exercises, compact notes and some in-depth theories. But conversely, some other textbooks are highly recommended compared to the revision books that're in the store. For an instance, I mostly utilize my Biology textbook when it comes to memorize/comprehend the notes thoroughly. The same applies to my History textbook; I exploit it as I found out that several if not most of the notes provided from some Sej revision books do contains information/notes that are slightly different form the ones in the textbook. And not to mention that supposedly we're opt to select answers that're in objectives question, be it History or Biology, and that we're given option that are from the textbook, while the next option can be found in the revision book, we will have to choose the former. Trust me when I say this that I've been into this quagmire more than once before. And I will always get the same reply by my teacher saying that I gotta answer the questions according to textbook bla bla....., and not to follow my revision notes bla bla..... As much as I like to protect my standing and reasoning before it comes to a stalemate with my teacher, I gotta bitterly admit my defeat if I were to oppose any answers/theories from the textbook, and none of my answers will be further tolerated. So you see, this is where the fundamental of textbook comes in, be it you like it or not. As for revision books, they are a vital tools too, if and only if their notes/information do not wholly vary with the ones from the textbook. When it comes to specific or exact terms/definitions that I need to comprehend, I'd say textbook is a much more safer tool to be used. But when you need to ameliorate your critical thinking skills, let the revision books be your best pal. So, regarding your doubt about whether you will waste your time by using the textbook, I can't precisely say yes or no. It's all up to the subjects, your needs, and the choice is in your hands |

QUOTE(work_tgr @ Aug 4 2013, 08:21 PM) If there is a problem question in SPM paper, yet there is no announcement for the correction, what will you do ? Obviously, I will pick the option number 2. I've stumbled across this err more than once Example, plot a graph A against B. But you know the right graph should be B against A. Which graph will you plot ? 1. A against B (which is wrong) 2. B against A (which is right but wrong based on the question) |
