How do you all study for Bio? Basically, I still find it hard to get A+ for this subject and I dont want it to ruin my trial results. Any great ideas will be appreciated.

Bio, you must understand it.

If simply memories later might mix up.

Hey guys I've some questions regarding add maths which I am stuck on, perhaps you guys could chime in? biggrin.gif

Q1: The Diagram shows a straight line SRT which is perpendicular to the straight line PRQ. R is the mid point of PQ
a) Calculate the value of k and p
b) State the x-intercept of the line SRT.

They give me the gradient of 1 line and the midpoint of the other line. Am I suppose to like sub them in? hmm.gif
What about the m1m2 formula?

Attached is the picture of the question. Don't mind my scribbles of working. tongue.gif

Q2: Teh mass of 1% of instant coffee bags produced by a factory is less than 500g. The machine that filled the bags of instant coffee follows a normal distribution with a mean of 510g.

a) Show that the standard deviation of the machine is 4.3g.

What should I do again when they ask to show? unsure.gif

This this correct? P(Z<500-510/s.d.)= 0.01

The coordinated of R(4,2), P(0, y_P) and Q(x_Q, 0) are known, where y_P = 4 and x_Q = 8

The equation for Line SRT is given by 2y = kx + p.

The gradient of Line PRQ can be determined with m_PRQ = -y_P / x_Q.

The gradient of Line SRT can be calculated using m_SRT = -1 / m_PRQ.

Using the standard equation for Line SRT of y = (k / 2)*x + (p / 2), k can be found.

Substituting the coordinate of R(4,2) into Line SRT, you can work out the value of p.

Similarly, x-intercept of the Line SRT can be determined exactly the same way you worked on the gradient of Line PRQ.

Wow thanks for the response,

do pardon my ignorance but what does the underscore stand for again? laugh.gif

QUOTE
Supercooling, is the process of lowering the temperature of a liquid or a gas below its freezing point without it becoming a solid.

Supercooling is often confused with freezing-point depression. Supercooling is the cooling of a liquid below its freezing point without it becoming solid. Freezing point depression is when a solution can be cooled below the freezing point of the corresponding pure liquid due to the presence of the solute; an example of this is the freezing point depression that occurs when sodium chloride is added to pure water.
