In physics, for potential energy, must we specify if its elastic or gravitational PE or just write potential energy, especially for questions on energy change

Kedah 2013 Chemistry trial question 8 © - One of the answers is superconductor- Conduct electric at high temperature (property)- used in computers. Is this actually correct? I thought superconductors conduct electricity at low temperatures? Hope someone can clarify this.

B is the right answer . Where did you get this from ? I have past years before the year 2000 , but in B.M .
*
Why B? I have done similar ones before too.

I have done this before too . My teacher said cancel PQ coz its an error. Solution is like this:

A big thanks to both of you. rclxms.gif So does the phrase "........is a unit vector" means its equal to 1 in any circumstances?
*
Yea for unit vector, it means magnitude is 1

Hey guys, I got more tips for SEJ SPM (paper 2 IIRC), For form 5 Tema 10 focus on Bab 2 subtopic, Gerakan Islah, Akhbar-akhbar and perjuangan persatuan-persatuan melayu. Tema 11 focus on Bab 5, sistem ahli, bab 6 , pembentukan Malaysia, Akta Malaysia and for bab 8 Memartabatkan BM and Dasar kebudayaan. For Tema 12(bab 9) look out for Dasar Luar Malaysia and Cabaran Masa depan especially K Ekonomi and K masyarakat.

Hope this helps smile.gif
Okay whatever floats your boat...if you insist I am BU3 then BU3 I am to you then. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Critical_Fallacy @ Oct 6 2013, 12:58 PM)
Although your answer B is correct, it is worthwhile to mention that, the weight of water displaced by a fully immersed polystyrene DOES NOT equal to the weight of the polystyrene, unless it floats freely on the water surface.

The weight of the polystyrene is negligible (0 N) because it has very low density.

Thus, we have

Tension = Weight of displaced water − 0.

Assuming that all Polystyrene (P) have the same cross section area, so volume of P3 > P2 > P1.

Since the parameters of water density and standard gravity, g are unchanged, then tension T3 > T2 > T1. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
If the weight is not negligible, lets say for a heavier object, then how will it affect the tension force? Are they equal then?

Depends on how heavy the object is I guess. Less dense or denser than water?
I will start this week.  smile.gif
*
If less dense, I would think the ans should still be as in B right? But if more dense then im not sure

In chemistry, for rate of reaction, should we write general ans or specific ans for factor? For example, size of zinc or size of solid reactants and also for like temperature, write temp of reactants or hydrochloric acid?

I think is volume or TSA not size, correct me if I'm wrong.
*
Both also can. Im not sure if must write general or specific one

Most books I've seen accept general. Specific would also contain the general word (eg "temperature of hydrochloric acid" contains the word "temperature") so I think it would also be accepted.

ok thx! i just wanted to be on the safe side and not throw away marks smile.gif

maximr, it should be H+ions and zinc atoms right? isn't it that we must be specific for questions about collision theory?

Certain Trial papers' mark schemes don't specify the particles interacting in a reaction
*
i think its better if we use specific ones for ROR and questions on factors then

For BM komsas, I heard if the students' kbkk, persoalan, nilai and pengajaran answer are not same as the skema although they are rational will be wrong. My tuition teacher told me that dont be surprise if out of 40 candidate, only 5 will get correct.

So, how do you guys tackle Komsas part. Right now, I am doing trials paper to get familiarize with the accepted answers
*
i dont think so la.. my teacher who is a marker says that as long it is logical it is accepted

Just a quick fact.

According to my chem teacher, rusting has been predicted for the past few years for Chem P3 but it never came out.

Yea true. For oxidation n reduction chapter, there r many exp but none of them have been asked in p3 lately

On a separate topic, in the Penang Sejarah trials question 18 objective:

Raja Henry VIII telah memutuskan hubungan England dengan gereja roman katolik di Rom. Apakah kesannya?

A Pungukuhan kuasa politik
B menyokong usaha counter-reformation
C melangsungkan upacara perkahwinan
D menjadi pusat penyebaran agama

I could not find the answer to this, mainly due to not having the F4 textbook(3 reference books and nothing). I selected D because according to what I remember(and checked), Henry made himself the ketua kerohanian for the protestan church.
*
According to textbook pg 222 its memutuskan kerana ingin berkahwin dgn anne boleyn. Maybe ans is c?
