Its a bit too early to tell. We have to see what the cooling system of the AW 14 is like and how easy it is to clean the fans and reapply thermal paste (the M14x was very very difficult for self-maintenance). Of course, we have to see whether there are any more upgrade options for the RE-15 as well thumbup.gif

But for the time being, the RE-15 has the upper hand in terms of price-performance ratio. And based on what I've seen over the year, a 14" gaming notebook will never be able to compete with a 15" gaming notebook one, especially if you are talking about performance laugh.gif

I know I've studied both specs & even looked at the "old" AW M14x...Illegear so far... thumbup.gif can get any discount or not Prince J... biggrin.gif just asking hehe...

Feel like to pm me your desired config and I will quote for you.
*
Sure I'll PM you my proposed specs...just wondering about the choice of HDD for the RE-15 laptop...I'm a bit of a noob here...is the SSD a necessity nowadays or a 1TB of 5400 rpm sufficient for this kind of high performance laptop? hmm.gif

5400rpm helps to save battery life that's why we still offer them. Yes I admitted 5400rpm is very slow but it won't be a problem if pairing with a ssd. If you want less heat, noise and greater battery life go for 5400rpm.
*
Ok so pairing means put the OS on the ssd and data on the 5400rpm HDD? Could you please suggest a good price for both HDD? It seems that adding an SSD is a bit much on my budget... sweat.gif if not maybe I'll just stick to the 1TB 5400rpm...

No worries mate, you can always upgrade later one, so even if its a 1TB (5400rpm), it will probably satisfy you for around a year or two, and when it really slows down, then its time to upgrade brows.gif By that time SSDs will definitely be much more affordable (assuming we are still using SSD that time tongue.gif)

I would suggest adding a Crucial M500 mSATA 120GB (weight concern) or 2.5" Crucial M500 120GB.
*
Well I think I'll stick to the 1TB and upgrade later...more cost efficient hehe... whistling.gif

I think the RS is for the really hardcore gamers & I thought the the RE was powerful enough...then it depends on your nature of usage... as for me a first timer with Illegear I thought the RE was an upgrade to the RS model hehe...we need more exposures to the models especially in Youtube...just my 1 sen... blush.gif

re-15 is built on W350STQ. We only provide free colored top panel, other colored housings are also available at additional cost.
*
Your answer above...been studying the Clevo W350STQ for images but is it exactly the same as the Clevo model? If can change the palm rest area into a darker color that would be really nice with my black lid... brows.gif
