I should have split my shipment between the nexus 4 & 10, sure it won't be held up so long.  Arrive on Saturday, only cleared customs this morning due to formal clearance I.e. open box inspection

What did you declared as? Anyway, the process submit the permit to them took how long to process?

Guys, does your Nexus 4 top back part (beside camera area) get really hot upon usage?

Guess that's the price to pay for a quad core processor? laugh.gif
*
Yes it is noticeable hot at the camera area... with casing would solve this little problem wink.gif

I think it's the design. It's rubber.
it provides more protection but also makes ur n4 looks bulky.
I can't find any "pending" in both my wallet  and playstore acc. did you receive the order confirmation email?
Did they not do a survey on market price? wtf
*
No. the back it not rubber.. it's full of glass. and the dots are design.

Under certain lighting it will show the dotted patterns.

Just got myself a flip case from nilkin. Looks bulky. Now waiting for the arrival of ringke slim case.

The battery life seems not bad for N4.. been using it for 2 days

With constant on wifi and 3G network, can last for almost 1 day per single charge.

For customized vibration setting with set intervals, try this app - missed calls reminder, you can even set led display colors for calls, SMS n mms and customize duration n intervals

For battery saver, deep sleep app as one forummer here recommended.  Previous day, my n4 drained 11% overnight with wifi n 3G off.  With deep sleep, it only drained 3% yesterday
*
yours with 4.2.1?

With 4.2, I encounter it drains 3-4% while left it overnight with 3G and WiFi off. However, push notification were left on during overnight. Will test again and report back.

Sgs3 and note 2 not support wireless charging out of box. User for both device need to buy wireless charging back cover. The cover is include in Samsung accessories like Verizon Sgs3 accessorise.

Anyone know any seller in garage sale selling SP for nexus 4?? SP that cover front and back of nexus 4.
*
I have extra Nilkin SP with front and back. Bought extra unit from a LYN seller. If you wanted, I can throw in the free postage. PM me if interested.

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Dec 31 2012, 12:43 AM)
Someone wanna gimme a Nexus 4 I can try with my QE-TM101. Energizer confirmed working with Nexus 4, but the charger is wedge shape, and with the glass back of the Nexus 4, the phone tends to slip off the surface of the Energizer version.

Which is why I love my Panasonic QE-TM101. it's flat, and it has this antislip surface that prevents any slippage. But with the Lumia 920 that I have, when that 920 vibrates, it displaces the phone because of the curved back. One occasion it vibrated and displaced until it was 90 degrees off center when I originally put it and left it charging and return back later to check on it. No problem with the nearly flat DROID DNA.

The LG charger is noisy, everytime your phone loses 100% charge, it beeps loudly to indicate charging.
*
Where are you located, I wanna try the wireless charging as well. There is no OEM or other wireless charging pad for me to test on the N4. sad.gif

QUOTE(DjK @ Dec 31 2012, 03:16 AM)
I'm actually interested on feedbacks from current onwers, i knew that a few pages back kuntakite (i hope i've spelled it right) did made a hell of a great review...would like to know whether current onwers who owned the phone 1month-ish are able to report steady battery drain as compared to first few early cycles? and ANY problems they face?(has the phone hanged on certain apps, etc) thx happy.gif
*
The problem I noticed so far is the buzzing sound on the ear-speaker (not sure if I address it correctly). So far the battery performance is quite okay with me. Lasted 6 hours + with 3G and playing Ingress the whole day outside. On screen lasted about 2 hours + , near to 3 hours.

For me it doesn't matter.. but when answering/making a call in silent room.. you can notice the buzzing sound which is quite annoying sometimes.

thumbs up for Doomsday and Kuntakinte for the feedbacks we hoped to have more plus perks you guys enjoy and not much downsides to the phones. next trivial, has anyone broke their V card? (root) tongue.gif

another trivial, has any owners got annoyed by the 3 touch keys at the bottom when using apps?(accidentally touched one of them while playing games. etc). do we actually have to live with it and get ourself familiar with the phone and in good time won't develop the habbit of touching them while working on the phone? also, is there any apps(rooted, non-rooted) that hides those 3 touch buttons and users can bring them back up when in need?
*
I have been using on screen buttons since the 1st gen of Nook Color e-book reader. So far the on screen button works fine with me.

For my preference, I liked it over the physical buttons because they tend to wear out sometime after few million times of presses. I have been using my Galaxy Nexus almost a year and it does a great job as well on N4. I found the embossed curved screen on N4 provides better swiping across the screen compared to Galaxy Nexus (which has a border on the sides).

There are plenty of hacks to hide the virtual button. One of them is LMT launcher which uses thumb gestures to navigate the home, back, recent app (virtual buttons). It's cool at 1st, but not practical to use in my opinion.

Overall, the power and volume buttons are much more harder to press compared to the 2nd and 3rd gen of Nexus series.

More findings will be reported.... wink.gif

Added on December 31, 2012, 11:56 am

what is your opinion about the touch responsiveness compare to Galaxy nexus?
*
It's same in my opinion.. I still using back to back with my Gnex and N4.

No sluggish nor irresponsive as reported. Will reported again to stress test on both devices

Met with Doomsday, very nice guy. Tested his Nexus 4, and I'm soooooooooo jealous he has Ingress already!

We then tested his Nexus 4 on my Panasonic Wireless Qi charger, and voila! Here's the video:

It charges all three, my Lumia 920, DROID DNA and his Nexus 4.

*wonders if I've poisoned Doomsday enough with regard to DROID DNA. The DNA is damn light isn't it? And that eye-melting 441PPI 1080p screen! *
*
Ya the wireless charger works well with Nexus 4. Really impressive I must say for this kind of technology.

Damm the Droid DNA is so light than my nexus. Even freaking lighter than the s3. Was shocked when first handover from Stringfellow.never thought it was so light. smile.gif

I'd take the N4 anytime. Stock over childish UI. Build quality is much better too than S3.
It's a real phone ya, not a dummy phone. laugh.gif

We discussed the different Qi chargers available. Personally I feel that this Panasonic Qi charger works best across all Qi equipped phones.

I'm still jealous of your Ingress. cry.gif
*
Yeap, I would pick Droid DNA anytime out of those Sammy's Note2/S3

Back to topic, I forgot to mentioned there is another brand of wireless charging that is not compatible with N4... Let me google it first, just reached home blush.gif

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jan 1 2013, 10:47 PM)
IMHO battery wise Sammy better but in other area Nexus 4 is better.Build quality wise,Nexus is way2 better.
Regular plastic body might be flimsy but it's still one the best material for the phone because it allow excellent signal transmission.
http://blog.gsmarena.com/htc-droid-dna-tak...what-it-scored/
Definitely better than Nexus 4.But thing is most of the early Nexus 4 reviews were done with non-final version of Android 4.2.Current Nexus 4 users saying there are noticeable improvement with battery life with latest 4.2.1.
*
My nexus4 is still fresh 4.2, and with 24/7 on with both 3G and Wifi in average use could last for 1 day.

Will report back the findings once I update n4 to 4.2.1

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jan 1 2013, 11:01 PM)
What is Ingress? Basically an augmented reality game from Google. Think of it as a real-life Command and Conquer, only using your smartphone and you moving around real location and "conquering the location". Closed beta now from Google, by invitation only. Doomsday got his in a month, I still need to wait another 3 weeks to get my invitation.

DROID DNA is LTE, CDMA and GSM. It's a world phone. I'm using it with Maxis.
Wait till you see sunnyboy's DNA. Verizon Employee Red Limited Edition!
