it depend which market u r trying to sell...
student or young adult the Google Update is ur targeting market then okay lar...

but for general market... they wan big screen and big battery and big storage
this is just logical... and most practical usages
ICS and JB means nothing to them...
*
trust me, i've been in this market for far too long. ppl don't give 2 shxts about which version they are on, but they care a great deal when they can't have the newest functions after they saw ppl like me using it. ppl won't care about whether they are using touchpiss UI or vanilla, but they do care about tiny details like how damn ugly the UI is and a simply swipe from camera to access gallery function (that they can't do in JB touchpiss)

But JellyBean is announced during Google I/O, together with Nexus 7. Maybe we can see another device with 5.0  laugh.gif
Just a wild guess.

they'll use back N4 lah, won't launch a new nexus phone so quickly. they will probably launch the new Motorola Nexus (known as X phone) in 2014's I/O

I guess Android 5.0 is inevitable.

But it's still 5 months ahead. Such long wait.  sweat.gif

You can setup your gmail under stock email app. Just need to know the right setting to configure.  biggrin.gif

Next Nexus phone in line would be due somewhere in Oct/Nov 2013, if following Google's trend in introducing Nexus line of phone devices.
*
then lets hope they have enough time to splice up the next Nexus phone, hopefully it's the Moto's X phone. Moto makes great devices, only problem with them over the years is that they locked their bootloaders too tight. they r also the 2nd fastest manufacturer to provide latest updates on their devices after the Nexus line. My friend's Xoom got his JB 1 month after it was announced, that's what i call timely updates.

OT: The age of lagless Android device on Full HD 1080p is here. This thing eats anything I throw at it without a hint of slowdown. Text look like a picture already. I can paste my eyeball right next to the screen and still not see any pixels.

As for N4, I'm considering. I had a short testdrive a while back and while it is smooth and that stock Android UI is so desirable, I like my DNA screen and styling better. Still, that prospect of fooling around with tons of custom ROMs on the N4 is so seductive. drool.gif

the droid DNA is from HTC right? good luck with the updates mate. i'm fed up with their BS of not giving us DHD owners ICS updates, sticking with Nexus from now onwards.

I like the apprehension towards LTE here. More empty nodes means faster LTE speeds for early adopters since they don't have to share them with the doubters.

Point is, we're moving forward, we dont wanna stay stagnant. Media consumption at higher rate and teleconferencing is one of the reason why I'm excited about LTE. Had a taste of LTE in the States and it's like when you moved to HDTV for the first time and asked to go back to square CRTs. I've tasted the future and being asked to live in the past.

You may not find a reason for it now, but once you've tasted it, all the previously unavailable opportunities opened up, because the shittier speeds you had before prevented you from doing it.
*
we are not doubting the speeds of LTE, we are doubting our beloved telcos' speed of deploying it to cover relevant areas in malaysia. i mean....if u r a Maxis user, u will no doubt be feeling that Maxis service is declining over the years, especially in their 3G services. Sometimes in some areas that had 3g coverage will become not available for some time, and there are some areas that doesn't even have 3g but the neighbouring areas all have HSPA. and don't even get me started on DIGI, it's services are declining since it launched it's 3g service. because it can't accomodate it's growing users. and it can't even cover basement car parks (that i can get full coverage with Celcom and Maxis).

With this kind of trend, I'm expecting LTE to be usable not until mid 2014 in the entire KL area, and end of 2014 for all other major cities.

So in your opinion, what should they do? Completely blanket everywhere with working 3G connection before they even think of deploying LTE? Then you'd get people complaining how they're lagging in adopting new technology and faster speeds.

The way I look at it, let them deploy LTE hand-in-hand with correcting the problems with current 3G speeds/coverage, so that LTE will be what 3G is to 2G/EDGE now: a secondary, fallback connection option. With that, good coverage areas will get LTE and shittier once gets AT LEAST 3G, instead of no connection at all.

I agree with grading entities by looking at their past historical performance, but you never move forward until you give them a chance. DiGi is fixing it by leapfrogging 3G to LTE, and I foreseen that as more problematic than Maxis or Celcom because if let say their LTE service breaks down, theire second-best connection is......EDGE? *vomit*

Look at it this way, with LTE out, your shittiest connection will sooner or later be , your current 3G connection. Isn't that a WIN?

i'm not saying they should stop deploying LTE (read my previous post carefully), I estimated the LTE deployment rate only.

in my opinion, i think they should get their shxt together first before deploying another thing to burden their current services. if they can't even cover at least 90% of all major cities with 3g, how r they going to move forward with their LTE? it's like the government wants all of malaysia to adopt ADSL, but the current ADSL infrastructure sucks big time, so what's the point of more ppl adopting ADSL when most of us can't even get decent ADSL speeds? to congest the network even more?

obviously u don't travel much, even if u travel, u r going to large cities, not small towns, so u can't comprehend what i meant. do u know in Vietnam kampung area they already have fiber network and fast and stable 3g coverage? y can they do that but here can't? think about it.

now back on topic.

Anyone used any LG phone before & have any experience with their service center?
If their service is really sucky I might just as well go for AP set.

never had any experiences with them, using O2X for almost 2 years now, no problem at all, their build quality is quite good, compared to my (other) 2 year old HTC DHD, which is falling apart after 1 year of usage.
