QUOTE(dexjac @ Dec 27 2012, 01:43 PM) If the shipments got held up at custom, private carriers such as DHL will settle for you such as to: some courier brand is FOC service charge, some is double that..- fill up the necessary documents - prepare other documents needed for the custom clearance such as invoices and etc. Then the carrier will also PAY on your behalf the 10% of total value (goods + shipments) + RM20 handling fees by the carrier. Then the carrier will deliver to your doorstep and pass you the invoice on the custom fees. You have to pay them at doorstep or they won't release the items to you Declaring the shipment as GIFTS no longer exempt it from duties Last I checked at custom website, TOYS do get taxed 10% IF the total values (Goods + shipping charge) exceeds RM500 |

QUOTE(EY 85 EY @ Jan 6 2013, 01:32 PM) Hi, I am new to lowyat forums but have followed for a long time. Also fan of Lego since young, but not a collector. if this is true, when why dont you buy alll 6 boxes today and double your capital? I started collecting the shell Lego very very late....and needed the Berlinetta 250 to complete my collection.... I have travelled over 20 shell stations since 2 weeks ago and to no avail.... But I managed to get the minifigs..... I am pleased to see that many Lego enthusiasts are against those who buy up all the sets and immediately sell them off for like double the price... What I want to say is, today was the last day I decided to look for the Berlinetta 250. Give up liao, went to the final station with my gf promising her that I won't waste my time already.... I also abit sad la...so I sent her into the station.... So I'm posting here to say The NKVE highway from Subang to Damansara shell station with KFC and petronas, has ALL the models, in plenty stock except the Minifigs. Yes all the models. I don't know how long it will last. But I saw with my eyes 6 big boxes with each model inside... At least 150+ pcs of each model including the Berlinetta 250! So my gf jumped out of the shell mart and ask me to open the car door, she told me all the models also got! U better come and see what u want la! |

QUOTE(EY 85 EY @ Jan 6 2013, 01:48 PM) Ha ha...I would be lying if I said I didn't think of buying the whole box of Berlinetta 250...I believe that most hobbyist would agree that would be against the spirit of the hobby itself... Plus, I think I read somewhere online about ppl investing in Lego...of course with every investment there is a risk... you can choose not to play what the rich are playing lor.. right now maybe they target large obsolete Theme sets like SW or the three Modular sets which pased outAll it takes is for Lego to reprint the same set again and then the value doesn't change. I guess some of the examples given were the millennium falcon which is like mega value now, but the death star they are still printing up to today... So that one still not a worthwhile investment? Maybe some sets like Atlantis and a prince of Persia also not as valuable as some thought? But of course got others which have tremendous value... If a hobby is only accessible to the rich, then eventually it will die a slow death right? Please coreect me if I'm wrong? so for budget concious go with collecting mini figs.. not cheap per figure, but it aint SSD or death star RRP .. actually death star not bad, cos can take out the 25 mini figs and sell.. |

QUOTE(maxilife1 @ Jan 8 2013, 02:58 PM) heheh nice formula..but also maybe coz its new then everybody so hype want to gets it..also poison from other people.. seriously i dont see any issue in getting hyped over 2013 sets, it's gonna get more and by christmas or black friday 2013 will be 10-20% discount at amazon.. better spend getting those 2-3years going to phased out sets..this set is not out yet right at our local TRU/AEON/Parkson & dont know the RRP in malaysia yet.. somebody said this set is available at LEGOLAND at price RM139.90..not sure here or in BOM..correct me if im wrong so if i keep this 1 set MISB, would be a good investment like the 7888 tumbler? i mean, look at these new sets, so cheap also, where got hype? if really kennot tahan ..go amazon, whip out credit card and order lor.. LEGO Super Heroes Tumbler Chase 76001 by LEGO Price: $64.98 LEGO Star Wars AT-RT 75002 by LEGO Price: $32.98 |

QUOTE(MaKiMo @ Jan 9 2013, 04:21 PM) As with any courier company, very expensive. if you doing for business, you should open a account with the couriers and if you commit to a certain shipment monthly you can negotiate to get good discounts rates.. My last 3 shipments was held over and I paid a total of over RM500 for those shipments... yup, a 10% sales tax... Make me angry like hell... as for tax handling fee, one charge RM20 (start with D) , some RM40, and one of them dont charge. |
