I sounded like a poorfag here after hearing u guys talking bout your lavish spending. perhaps I've gone through the period where I imported 1k++ (compounded by Western Union payment) without batting an eyelid, now Im more frugal than ever.

I hope the final produced version doesnt differ too far from the original built above . Otherwise... the real purpose of cuusoo will become a "begging place" for fans to shout "We what this! we want this!" and the user MOC/model is just a fodder /virgin sacrifice.

*i just had to get more bricks to MOC..trying to get more grey, light brown and black bricks...  sweat.gif  this is tooo poisonous! shakehead.gif
*
You're right. stocking up variety of parts with neutral colors /greyscale color is always practical coz they can be applied to most MOCs (house, vehicles, mechs) . Other colors can be acquired from conventional sets.

Merry Xmas to you all!  smile.gif These are my latest haul from Europe. Am I the only one collecting Tiny Racers series? challenging to collect these since they are almost non-existent in Malaysia.

Share share the pic if anyone do, love to see what else did I miss  smile.gif
*
I saw that huge set before on retail. U're 'fighting' with kids in snagging them in local malls coz Racers seems to be pretty popular with them .. not to mention they are smaller and affordable to lower income parents. Thats why u dunt see them long in the shelves. lol.

Well its cool too perhaps to rebuild each and every single building to follow modernization. Everyone can become city planner now heheh.

I also clearing up my lil LEGOtown and leaving just the railtracks and plates. new layout to commemorate the new year.

grab your fav book! biggrin.gif

Brickmaster SW is a MUST-HAVE for most of u guys . it contains 243 parts and two SW figures for just bout rm90. Not only u can have fun building 8 types of models (2 each time)... the parts are very useful.

From that point onwards.. LEGO no longer so "generous". their more recent brickmaster book like these price also same , about rm90, but the parts number dropped to less than 150 parts. :[

Bricklink checks your country IP and then tells whether the seller ships to you or not, some sellers do some don't. You just have to confirm with them first
*
Yup and when for each closed door, there are dozens more waiting to do our business =)

But one lil trap I always fell into is the lots qouta. If we pick too many different parts from different lots, they will surcharge us.

alanyuppie kor, i see you are MOC guy so you need more bricks in bulk than our normal lego collectors. What puzzles me where you get so many bricks from?

SOmetimes I feel so hand-itchy when I pass by the table in Lego which they put tonnes of bricks for children play. Wanna grab some from there  ... sinful..lol
*
www.bricklink.com of coz... and its done few times a year for many years now. USually I buy about 400-500 parts each transaction. Usually the need to buy started when I require special part for my project (eg. certain tyres or windshield).

I'm glad what I need mostly are small-small light parts ..so postage is not too high. For "heavier" LEGO bricks (compared to plates) , can buy from normal LEGO sets. For eg. "Bricks n more" series.

Is there any solution to lit up the Lego buildings at night? has to be authentic lighting (i.e. light in each room), not just put up one spotlight on top of Legos

Thanks for sharing. Yeahh.. Castle theme comeback !! Now I can start collecting Kingdom vs Castle..

hmm... I duno its a wise idea to have light directly shining on your LEGO constantly . The prolonged heat might discolor them. I only do that when I need yellow parts for MOC..but only got white. LOL.

can anyone recommend any good seller in bricklink ?
with a good shipping rate to malaysia ?

i find very hard to check shipping cost to MY, as its not stated.
so, if anyone have good experience with any sell, can you share ?
*
obviously its hard to state before you place orders coz they don't know the final weigh of your purchase. the cost of bricklink purchase sure beats local retail 99% of the time - worth the risk.

may ask, why is it so when i press the link that item are for sale it take you to ebay sellers ? is there a special link to buy ?
*
dont quite get you. where is that "link to the item" located? from your bricklink search result? When I click on the link in search result.. it send me to the seller list of for-sale stuff. from there I can choose more items to be bought from that seller and then "checkout" , wait for invoice , then make payment.

is it a secret which u guys cant just stated the name of seller/store in BL? the way ur replying is like u dont want him or us to know which store or seller in BL u bought LEGO from.. rclxub.gif

*
there is NO secret nor the purpose of keeping one. The BL search feature allows search by "best price". from the search result... we can knock ourselves out choosing cheapest/preferred seller and what else he has to offers that rocks our sampan.

as for personal recommendations... I have a dozen and no specific "favorite". Even if I mention lets say seller "XXX" my favorite, that seller might not offer what others are looking for (maybe he specialising on parts, not set.. or certain themed sets).

part of the fun in LEGO as a hobby is the scouting/searching online or in shops, rather than "direct me immediately to what I want." . I cherish every moment until the parcel came/unboxing, and assembly . I heard some got the kicks from admiring stacked MISB toy boxes against the wall tongue.gif

chill out bro  icon_idea.gif

my initial idea was to have our community here helping each other in getting lower price of any set you want.
so i thought it would be good any we can share any seller that we have deal before (of course buying at your own risk).
*
yep and i usually report good deals from my scouting here....
