Hi bro, looks like in order to connect to LTE you need to get this kind of SIM

A member able to get LTE activated with his Talkmore 75 plan at Maxis TTDI centre, his current SIM card is exchanged to this new one with 2 gold strips. You need to discuss a bit with the CS there as he face many problem when request to get LTE.

Read more about his story here

Hmm... Facing problem to connect to LTE too. Using Huawei E392 (Viva) that i bought from here 2 months ago. I just took up SIM only Maxis Wireless broadband plan yesterday. Then this morning changed the mini SIM to the Nano SIM which is exactly same as the Nano SIM on my ip5. FYI, i do get LTE on my ip5, that's why i terminated UMobile and get Maxis instead. Do i really need to get the special Nano SIM with 2 gold stripes on it? Had to pay RM25 plus buy a nano SIM adapter...

Inside the Mobile Partner (latest version from the 1st page), if i choose Maxis (2G)(3G)(LTE), then no problem to register; but if i choose only LTE, registration failed.

Below is proof that the modem is picking up LTE signals using MDMA.

Can see the RSSI but cannot see the cell ID. Definitely not registered too.

Btw, i use the E392 with TL-MR3420 3G/4G router. But it only connects when i set it to WCDMA only. If i set it for Auto, it will not connect at all once plug into the MR3420 cry.gif

Finally, what i did was taking the Nano SIM out from my ip5 and put into the E392. Same thing happen, cannot connect to LTE rclxub.gif

Anyone using E392 also facing this problem? TQ icon_question.gif

Please flash your modem to the latest firmware, use the latest one at first page. Yes it will work on your modem since E398 and E392 in actually the same thing.

Next use the latest version of MDMA forcing your modem to LTE 1800Mhz

What is your location right now.

Hi bro, thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I'm using the latest MDMA from 1st page. I'm currently in Selangor Selayang area. Living on the 5th floor, my ip5 has been on LTE since 5 days ago.

Oh, so I need to flash the modem's firmware. Never done it before, any specifics steps that I need to take? Or just download the exe file, run it n follow the on-screen instruction?

Btw, can PM me the password for the firmware? Again TQVM!!

It is a firmware bug.
To force modem to 900Mhz you need manually input the values in QPST

Very complicated tho
*
Hai boss. icon_question.gif
I just want to know is it this bug problem can be settled by downgrade to older firmware?
Any effect to modem if I'm downgrading firmware?
TQ

Almost the whole U15 range having this bug sweat.gif

Anyway, why you need 900Mhz, it is slow than 2100Mhz most of the time

I just want to do some experiment with both frequencies since I got poor 3G experience over my new place. sad.gif
So it's useless if I downgrade to older firmware right?
And if I'm on 900Mhz, my connection will be slower right?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
