Arrived home this morning, first thing I did was unpack the iMac (27" i7 2TB 4GB) which has been waiting in the box since 14th Jan... Switched it on to test and make sure things are OK, screen appears uniform I don't see a yellow tinge or anything... Hard drive is silent... Hope it stays this way...The 2TB drive installed is a Hitachi... Just installed another 2x2GB ram to bump it up to a total of 8gigs... Gotta spend the day transferring data, downloading updates etc... Not using migration assistant/mobileme sync coz I want a fresh new start biggrin.gif I've also ditched the wireless KB & magic mouse, not a fan of either of them... They're still wrapped in plastic inside the box... Using a full size wired and a logitech MX1100 from my previous setup instead...

The built in desk in my room isn't deep enough for this thing, I'm sitting a bit close to the screen... Will have to remove the drawers underneath the desk and replace it with a slide out keyboard tray or something, so I can sit further away from the screen.. Will post a proper setup pic once I've sorted out the table modification and cable management smile.gif

Nice setup. I suppose you do not get the extra ram from Apple. How much did you pay for it?
*
Yeah I didn't, extra ram from Apple is a blatant rip off! I bought the ram while I was in Aussie, A$38 for each 2GB stick.

Anyway, got the slide out keyboard tray installed. Loving it now, sitting a nice distance away from the screen. Here's an updated pic of my setup:

Clockwise from left: MBA ; Sennheiser RS170 ; iPhone 3GS in Universal Dock ; iMac ; 2TB WD Green in Rocstor Enclosure ; iPod Nano 1G+iPod Nano 5G+iPhone in Griffin PowerDock 4 ; MBP on mStand ; Logitech MX1100 ; Wired KB ; Sennheiser MM450 Travel.

Edit: I've got several PMs about selling off the wireless KB & magic mouse. Sorry guys but they're not for sale, my dad is using them.

Nice clean setup. Is it this clean usually or it's "special" occasion only?

Thanks for giving me idea what to get next biggrin.gif a PowerDock!

Thanks smile.gif Tidy desk is for illustration purposes only... LOL! It's usually not that bad, just a wee bit messier with things lying around the empty spaces. HAHA....

The PowerDock is definitely convenient to have! This is my 2nd one.. I have a PowerDock 2 next to my bed tongue.gif

You can easily find the PowerDock 2 at the premium resellers around town, although they're extremely overpriced... I haven't seem any stores here that carry the PowerDock 4... I got my PowerDock 2 in Australia and PowerDock 4 in Bangkok... As wei has pointed out Griffin's having a sale, check em out!
