Hi! Newbie question here.

I have 500K eligible for withdrawal from EPF 55-year pension. No intention of using this fund.

Should I leave it in EPF, which offer better return compared to bank FD?
Or any suggestion how I should invest it to get better return than EPF dividend?

Thanks.
*
Why do you want to remove from epf? If the fund didn't perform well, what are you going to do? Your epf earning could be reduced.

It is just an option whether I should withdraw ALL from EPF (55-years old withdrawal) & put my money elsewhere to generate better return in comparison to EPF 6.75% dividend.
*
If you are confident that you are able to get >epf, please do so. But make sure you have some kind of backup.

However most people who withdraw completely will regret it later in life due to market crashing, u unit trust not performing or some other stuff

Really? 10% return in only 8 months is awesome! Care to provide me more details/web link?
BTW, what is KGF?

Thanks.
*
Keep in mind that the returns maybe (-). KGF is kenanga growth fund. Don't buy from banks as they charge 5% SC + 6% GST of that 5%. Buy from FSM as they charge you only 2% SC.

See here for more info.

How much usually the service fee through agent? 4%, 6%? I mean generally if I invest a lump sum amount via unit trust agent.
*
5% + 6% of that 5%

I assumed SC = service charge, right?
Or Security Commission? LOL!
Better to type the whole words than using short form to avoid confusion.
*
Service charge. WHat's your service charge?

Newcomer to unit trust world here.

Can recommend me a fund that is moderate and for mid-long term (5-10 yrs)?  Heard Public Mutual has the highest service fee rate, is it true?  Should I stay away from Pub Mutual at all costs?  A friend keeps recommending me something called small-cap fund.

And also, is it better to put in lump sum or monthly as suggested by a friend?

Appreciate advise.
*
Look at FSM Malaysia thread. There's lot's to choose. Yes. All UT sold by banks come with 5.5% service charge. Your best bet is FSM MY where serice charge is only 2%.

Depends. If the market is down, no harm lump sum in. If it's up, then up slowly. Lump sum in at it's peak will cause you longer time to get your returns.

Avoid all public mutual at all cost as they are not performing.

You know I mean that's the thing. I am disagreeing with what is said above. I don't see any kind of "special" service buying funds on CIMB Clicks. There is no special number/hotline to call either by the looks of it.

Also, I want to ask. If I place a purchase today (25 Dec), based on which day NAV will it conduct the transaction? Is it based on last Friday, or based on next Tuesday, or something else? Is it the same case with switching?
*
Actually FSM you do get special service. How? Just email/live chat with them. They also got adviser.

Hi Sifu's,

Who will invest oversea trust fund company similar as public mutual, public gold & etc...

What is the p&c to you?
*
Public mutual sucks. Return cannot even beat funds like
CIMB-Principal Asia Pacific Dynamic Income Fund/Manulife US Equity/Manulife India Equity/TA GLobal Tech. These are among the top funds which invest overseas.

what do you think about this fund? MANULIFE INVESTMENT ASIA-PACIFIC REIT FUNDĀ
anyone invest to this fund?
*
Me. It's quite a good REIT fund vs Amasia pacific REITs. However it's not as well diversified AmAsia Pacific REITs. That's the trade off.

Hi
It might be a bit out of topic, I would to ask for opinion if each year i can spare out rm6k. Which is more worth to put ? sspn for my kid (mainly for tax relief) or asx?
*
PRS. Any balance then you decide. PRS got tax relief + can beat ASX (we are talking about the fixed price fund not the varibale price funds)

my uncle once told me to not invest in fund because the way they calculate your dividen is flawed and fraudulent.

is this one of those case?
*
No such thing. Whether a fund distribute dividend or not, it does not matter. Why? Say a fund give 10% dividend, the NAV drop by 10% also. That's how it works all over the world. So those agent which tell you oh my fund give 10% return, ask first in dividend or performance.

What matter is whether the fund can perform or not.

Do you think TA Global Tech still a good investment at this time?

Well you can buy little instead of lump sum. Buy the min amount. Keep for other time.

For me, I am not buying anything.
