hi bro, wish to own a frogman but budget nt much...can recommend a nice affordable frogman to me?thanks...
Frogmans are never affordable. Casio has to pay a lot to have them being compliant to ISO 6425 diving standards. They are all made in Japan, which increases production costs, not to mention the material used, for eg. Titanium. It doesn't help when they are marketed as the flagship of "Master of G" G-Shocks.
Prices hover around RM1,500 to RM2,000++. Retail. You will be able to get cheaper ones though, since street prices are less than that. However, I don't see many watch shops stocking Frogmans as they are too expensive to stock. The older ones are not as expensive though, but most of them (normal, non special edition ones) are at the RM1,000-RM1,200 price point.
There are currently two types of Frogman in the market, the GF-8250 and the GF-1000. The GF-8250 is slightly cheaper and this model has been around for a long time. Casio have always been updating this model. The last one being the Bape x Stussy Frogman.
The GF-1000 is one of the nicest G-Shocks I've seen. The build quality, the ruggedness and buttons are all top notch. The ones in Malaysia are the non-Multiband 6 GF-1000.
Anyway, right now, there are only two Frogmans for sale at G-Factory. The GF-1000-1 and the Men in Earth Tone GF-8250ER-2. The GF-1000-1 has a retail of slightly over RM2,000 while the GF-8250ER-2 is around RM1,500 IIRC. If you are lucky, you might be able to find the Final Frog GW-200Z-1 and the GF-8250-9 in other stores. Frogmans pop up once in a while at online resellers, you can try those too.
As for ""nice", to me, Frogmans are all nice. Wait for the 30th Anniversary Lightning Yellow series to be release. There are two Frogmans in the series, one retails at USD500 while the other one retails at USD1,700.
