didnt notice that, but i can hardly find any good condition dw6300 so didnt have a chance to get hold of one..
looking forward to get more gwf or gw200 series... but price like rock..
*
There were a few good condition DW6300 on eBay some time back. Not too sure about now.

GW200 ones, some are really sky high. I can't justify paying that kind of money for them, which is why my GW-200s are mostly the "normal" versions.

1000 series, I only have one, which I bought as a daily beater, that's why I bought the most basic of all the 1000s out there. It's not even a GWF-1000, it's a GF-1000. Again, I can't justify paying that much for a GWF-1000 special editions.

hi bro, wish to own a frogman but budget nt much...can recommend a nice affordable frogman to me?thanks...
*
Frogmans are never affordable. Casio has to pay a lot to have them being compliant to ISO 6425 diving standards. They are all made in Japan, which increases production costs, not to mention the material used, for eg. Titanium. It doesn't help when they are marketed as the flagship of "Master of G" G-Shocks.

Prices hover around RM1,500 to RM2,000++. Retail. You will be able to get cheaper ones though, since street prices are less than that. However, I don't see many watch shops stocking Frogmans as they are too expensive to stock. The older ones are not as expensive though, but most of them (normal, non special edition ones) are at the RM1,000-RM1,200 price point.

There are currently two types of Frogman in the market, the GF-8250 and the GF-1000. The GF-8250 is slightly cheaper and this model has been around for a long time. Casio have always been updating this model. The last one being the Bape x Stussy Frogman.

The GF-1000 is one of the nicest G-Shocks I've seen. The build quality, the ruggedness and buttons are all top notch. The ones in Malaysia are the non-Multiband 6 GF-1000.

Anyway, right now, there are only two Frogmans for sale at G-Factory. The GF-1000-1 and the Men in Earth Tone GF-8250ER-2. The GF-1000-1 has a retail of slightly over RM2,000 while the GF-8250ER-2 is around RM1,500 IIRC. If you are lucky, you might be able to find the Final Frog GW-200Z-1 and the GF-8250-9 in other stores. Frogmans pop up once in a while at online resellers, you can try those too.

As for ""nice", to me, Frogmans are all nice. Wait for the 30th Anniversary Lightning Yellow series to be release. There are two Frogmans in the series, one retails at USD500 while the other one retails at USD1,700.

Is watch really tax free?
*
It is tax free according to the customs website. Can't remember where the link is.

However, some people saying that anything more than RM500 is taxable. So I'm not sure.

Nevertheless, I've bought plenty from overseas through eBay and I've never kena taxed. I always request the seller to declare actual amount and the items so no hanky pannk there.

Hope this helps.

Hey lokgotz and other Shifu,

How much is a fair priceto pay for the black dawn 25th Anni frogman. Black with gold accents?
*
What tomtom13 said is right. I paid around RM2k for mine last year.

QUOTE(tomtom13 @ Aug 26 2013, 02:33 AM)
U're welcome..
i can say every frogman is nice, so it is entire depends on how u think about tht piece... for me i prefer something more colourful...
so i hardly get any dark colour gshock...

as for kubrick ultra seven, it has been released for a while.. so price will be increased a lot..
still it is a willing seller and willing buyer market..
if u think the price is right for u, u can just go ahead and grab it... otherwise u will be regret in the future if the price of that piece increase..
*
Well said. It's a willing buyer, willing seller market. Never complain when you buy something that is overpriced. You are willing to buy it in the first place. A lot of people never seem to understand this.

HT... u have iron man?? only interested into iron man....

lokgotz, check this out.. might not be ur dream watch, but it is reissue of MMJ Frogman... looks 95% the same except EL logo and slightly comestic change of the design

Tempting... brows.gif  but price.... sweat.gif  rm10k++
*
Yeah I know about it. Back light different, skull logo instead of "No more war" inscription at the bottom strap, No more Multiband 6. But nah, >RM10k is just ridiculous. Even the retail is too much if you ask me...

BTW, my dream watch is not a G-Shock. thumbup.gif

Edit: Actually, I'm not too sure if it has Multiband 6 because I've not read the specs yet and I don't really know if it's a GF or a GWF. But the Multiband 6 wordings are visibly missing on the new one.

I'm back! Hopefully with a vengeance... smile.gif

A lot of commitments now and slowed down (not stopped) on my purchases.

Anyway, my latest pickups.

The Hypercolour series and the new Rangeman.

If anyone of you crave for the Hypercolour series, there is no better time to buy them than now.

As for me, those who are familiar with my collection knows that I'm not too fond of analog G-Shocks. I bought these three because they are unique. Not gonna go for the Hyper Orange and Hyper Yellow. If I do, it's for the sole purpose of collecting a full set of the Hypercolour series.

I preordered a Manbox from someone. Hopefully it'll be here soon. Like the Hypercolour series, there is no better time to buy them than now.

I got my 2013 BASELWORLD G-Shock (more commonly known as the Silver coin) DW6930BS-8 autographed by the father of G-Shocks, Kikuo Ibe, when he was here for STWKL2013. I didn't attend it, mainly because I didn't get the invitation and I am engaged with something else. My good friend got it autographed for me. smile.gif This is a VERY special watch for me and it's only apt that I have this autographed instead of my other G-Shocks. smile.gif

Collaborations that were launched at STWSG2013 and STWKL2013.

On the left, it's the DEPRESSION x G-Shock. It's a GD100SC-7 with a customized band by Singaporean fashion house, DEPRESSION.

On the right, it's the Irman Hilmi x G-Shock. It's a GD100-1 with a customized band by Irman Hilmi, a Malaysian designer.

Both are presents from my friends who attended both the STW events. smile.gif

Hi again!
Well, I've finally got my first G-Shock to add to my other watches.. Just a basic GX56-1A..
Seems like it has good build quality. Attach is an image on my 7.5" circumference wrist. Feels that it looks ok on my wrist.

Thanks liquidvamp for your feedback.

Now I'm back to finding the DW-5600BB. Most sellers don't have the stock. Need to find one in with good pricing. Cheapest found locally with stock is rm450. Is it a good price?
Just hope that it won't look to small on my wrist should I be able to procure a unit.

All G-Shocks have good build quality. They are, afterall, one of the toughest (if not the toughest) watches right now. smile.gif

I wanna show you the size of a DW-5600BB but I don't have a GX56 with me to compare (sold my GX56-DGK some time back). What watches do you have? Maybe I can give you an idea of its size.

It is a little small for G-Shocks. I'd say it's one of the smallest G-Shocks of all. It definitely is A LOT smaller than the GX56 you have.

With regards to the price, I'd say RM450 is the norm. Pretty hard to get one these days at less than RM400.

I've tried on one of the other 5600 series and do feel that it looks small..just that the minimalist style of the 5600BB was what attracted me to G-Shock.
Smallest watch I've got is an old J.Bovier watch from year 2002 with a 36mm dial excluding the crown. I don't really wear it anymore and the battery is dead.
Other watches do have minimum of 42mm dial.

I guess I'll drop by any G-shock shops and do a comparison of the 5600 next to my GX56..
*
All my other watches have a minimum dial size of 42mm as well and I can tell you that it's slightly smaller than that.

And yeah, I think it's better if you do a comparison with the 5600 to get an idea of its size.

Thats a very nice Rangeman you have there..Im actually looking for one as well..
If you dont mind me asking, where did you get it from?
*
Bought mine a G-Factory Mid Valley for RM1,129.
That's the retail price but I got word that some shops (non Marco stock I presume) are selling as low as RM950. So you gotta go scout around. smile.gif

There are actually two versions of Rangeman, , i.e. the Japan market version and the international version. The ones sold at G-Factory are international versions. The Japanese version comes with carbon fiber inserts in the straps (differentiated by the "Carbon Fiber" wordings at the bottom strap, as well as visible carbon fiber at the back of the strap). They are much more expensive. Other than the carbon fiber inserts, everything is exactly the same.

I knew you'll get a Rangeman. Haha

Most G-Shocks are made in Thailand and China. The only ones that are still truly made in Japan are Frogmans.

I think the GWA1000s are made in Japan. Not sure though. My GW-A1030A Thirty Stars is made in Japan though.

City Chain has been taking in G-Shocks for quite some time already, but if not mistaken they only took in G-Shocks and Baby-Gs, no other Casio models like Edifice, Protrek etc.

correct me if I'm wrong
*
They sold G-Shocks, then stopped for a couple of years. From your post, I guess they started selling again.
