Anyone using 9300gb. Any comments?
And anyone where Still got sell Ba-110-1a. Searched high and low but no luck
*
I have a G-9300GB. The G-9300 Mudmans are REALLY nice to wear. Super comfortable.

However, the only problem with this particular model (G-9300GB) is that the negative display is hard to read. I can never glance at it for a split second and tell the time. I need to look at it for at least 2 seconds to be able to tell time. That's why I always have Auto EL Light switched on for this G-Shock of mine (I usually switch it off for all my other G-Shocks). A lot of people complained about this and based on my own experience, I concur.

If you're keen on the G-9300 Mudman, I really suggest going for the positive display ones and not the GB/negative display version.

Edit: Picture from Watchuseek.
user posted image
Just look at how unreadable it is compared to the GA100 (look at the digits, not the hands). You really need to get the angle right to tell time. I'll take a picture (if I'm not too busy) comparing it to other negative display ones and post it here soon.

A quote from Watchuseek.
QUOTE
I agree with the OP. I have the black/gold atomic 9300 and the regular display atomic 9300. Will be ditching the GB soon. I often had to look twice at the negative display in any kind of light to simply see what time it is. Forget about the moonphase function, the detail is almost impossible to view with the negative display. It's a real disappointment to have to use the backlight in low light level situations instead of a quick read that the positive gives. The positive display is so much easier to read, and while the 9300 1JF does not look as cool as the 9300GB 1JF on the wrist, I'd rather be able to tell the time easily. Isn't function over form one of the defining characteristics of G-Shock watches?

u mean the auto EL?
yea, that should solve the problem actually
*
EL. Most digital G-Shocks have EL lights.
Auto EL means when you lift your G-Shock to a certain angle, the EL light automatically switches on. Hence, auto.
Full Auto EL, only Tough Solar models. That means the EL light automatically switches on at a certain angle AND when ambient lighting is dark.

i think most of g-factories or normal watch shop still have this as this is a gx-56 basic model.. the difference only is the price.
*
Not really. For some reason, A LOT of people are collecting the GX56 these days. Doesn't matter basic or DGK ones. The wave was started by a few "influential" members in the FB pages and out of a sudden, everyone wants one.

Not really. The GL-7500, G7500, G7510, GB5600/6900 all comes with Vibe alarm and they were launched way before the GD350.

Yes there is. GW-A1100 series. But this is a different range from the GA-1000FC you were looking at. The GW-A1xxx series are a lot more expensive.

This is totally insane!!! shocking.gif  shocking.gif U r really Frog"MAN"!!! Btw, i just get myself my very 1st Frogman yesterday when shopping at Sg. Wang. DW-8250 with RM1250. Ixxit fair price or expensive? I have no ideal with this model as i remember most of the shop sell Frogman RM2K above. Is this old model tat's y sell cheap?
*
DW-8250 or GF-8250?

DW-82xx are VERY old models, more than 15 years old. They are the second generation Frogman.

GF-82xx is recent (since 2010 or so), with the newest one being the Lightning Yellow GF-8230E-9.

As for the price, RM1,250 seems to be on the low side for a GF-82xx (especially in a shop and in Sg Wang) and on the high side for a DW-82xx model.

I'm assuming it's a GF-82xx model since I highly doubt anyone will sell a DW-82xx model in a shop these days. Usually collectors sell them, not shops.

Any photos of the Frogman? I'll be able to tell you more if I know exactly what model is it.

EDIT:
I replied before you edited your post.

That's the GF-8250-9. It's a tribute model to the original Men In Yellow Frogman. Not special edition, not limited edition. It doesn't even belong in a series (Men in something). But it is a tribute model.

RM1,250 for that is quite fair, considering you bought it at Sg Wang, where all the cut throat shops are.

With regards to Navy Frogman, I'm still thinking if I should go for it. I've slowed down on G-Shocks and concentrating on other watches. smile.gif

Thanks for the replies guys. So far all back engraving I found on the net got Thailand also. Unsure on the band lock though. Because I did found a wristband spare part stated CASIO Japan instead.

Like this one here.
*
Don't worry about where it's made from. They are all original. Both watch and the band and buckle.

There are Thailand, China and Japan. Older ones even Indonesia and Malaysia.

Of course, sellers will try to tell you that the Japan ones are more valuable but the fact is they are all the same.

PS* Wanna check with u, ur Final Frogman also come in this packing? Or steel case? Or just carton box?
*
What you have there is the Japanese packing. The international packing comes in errr...Can't really remember if it was a tin case or a carton box. Let me check and I get back to you.

EDIT: Checked. Came with normal carton box. No tin.

Hmm...Weird. Did the seller give you the correct box? I don't think the Final Frog came with tin cans. I might be wrong though.
Was the outer cardboard box (the one housing the tin can) have the proper model number?

The ones I see are all the basic cardboard boxes.

Of course the shop hardly give you the right box, hahaha

The frog was sitting in the tin can when displayed
So I also not really clear about the frog is come with tin can, lol!

It is a big size tin can
*
I'm pretty sure they don't come in tin cans.

That's the problem with shops, they care less about the actual box that came with the watch, something that collectors hate.

It's not really a very expensive model. Yes it's a Frogman but that's about it. I bought mine for less than RM700 actually.

QUOTE(futurehero @ Apr 10 2014, 03:15 PM)
What to do,hahaha
At least I got nice tin can,lol
*
You get a nice tin can but without the original box, the watch doesn't hold the value it's supposed to have. You might not be able to tell it with G-Shocks (since they are affordable) but if it's a slightly more expensive brand, it matters a lot. If you are a hardcore enough collector, you'll mind. A lot.

Wtf? RM700 for the Final Frogman? R u kidding me? I bought it RM1K++... T_T
*
Nope. Not kidding. In fact, I bought it together with my Men In Rusty Black Frogman (GW-200MS-1DR) and I paid around RM1,500 for both (if memory serves me right).

Those were the days where no one wanted Frogmans because of its price and lack of functions. ISO6425 certification means nothing to the average consumers. That's why its prices were dropping like mad. In fact, I bought my GF-1000-1 Frogman (my daily beater) for RM900(G-Factory retail price is RM2,069). I highly doubt people will sell at that price now.

You won't believe it now but this picture (an old picture of mine), I spent around RM3,000. Four Frogmans for RM3,000. This was in 2012.

Wow!! 4 for RM3K? That is really good price! Average RM750 each only. Nowaday i saw all the price tag for Frogman in watch shop all above RM1K. The GWF-1000 even RM2K+. The Navy blue Frogman sell at RM3K!! Tat's y i shocked when u told me just RM750...many be few years bek price is really low. I read frm the Casion website, Rangeman come with much more features compare to frogman....but wonder why frogman price is higher than rangeman... unsure.gif
*
The GWF-1000 is more than RM2k. The ones in G-Factory are GF-1000. They are the non-Multiband 6 version. Those are already RM2,069 retail. Navy Blue Frogman are around RM2k also. RM3k+ are the GWF version with Multiband 6.

Rangeman has more features because it's a newer model and technology allows Casio to put more sensors in it. Frogmans are ISO6425 compliant for deep sea diving. Casio has to pay for that certification. Frogmans are also only made with Caseback and premium materials like Titanium, which made it more expensive.

The Frogman has always been the flagship of G-Shocks (not counting the "premium" ones like MT-G series). However, with the introduction of Rangeman, a lot of people are saying that Rangeman is the new Frogman.

I doubt Casio will be putting in any of the ABC sensors into Frogman because they don't want to eat into the other models like Mudman, Rangeman, Riseman. It's still marketed as a diving watch and I think Casio will keep it that way. However, this is just my personal opinion.
