@lokgotz: congrats on the pickup. that's a really sweet G!

@Zombiemonkey: yup, EMS expedited. essentially it took 3 working days to reach here from japan. cost 1,680yen.

May I also suggest that TS place a thumbnail for this thread? Perhaps the G-Shock logo? hehe
*
Thanks!

BTW, putting a thumbnail makes the thread harder to find since all threads have thumbnails. I always look for the thread without a thumbnail. Haha.

Nice one!! Heard that bape online shop sold out and stussy online shop start selling tomorrow....
*
Thanks!

Mine was from Stussy store in Tokyo. Not too sure about the online ones as the information I gathered are contradicting. Even the prices are different. Aparently, Bape sells them a lot higher than Stussy.

Anyway more pictures!

I love that they took "Frogman" out and replace it with "SEAAIRLAND" and still keeping the <>. There is no "Casio" or "G-Shock" or "Frogman" on the watch face, something that is pretty rare. Minor details are my poison.

Back plate. Pretty nice with both Bape and Stussy logos.

I still don't know what Ill Collaboration means...

The customized backlight. Also with Bape and Stussy logos.

This is pretty interesting. No one (besides Stussy, Bape and Casio of course) knew that the watch is actually a jelly watch, i.e. transparent. It's only when people got their hands on the actual thing only they noticed. It's a very dark colour though, so it looks like a normal black strap. You really need to hold it towards a light source to see the transparency.

Enjoy! smile.gif

I am thinking because the red one has my Chinese name on the 12 o'clock position. If not, I won't really bother. Not an anime fan.

Our collection are very similar. LOL.

I am offered to buy the T5030C but the price is too ridiculous. I'd rather buy some other watches with that kinda money. I have a limit on how much I'm willing to pay for a G-Shock. Anything over the limit, it'll be for other watches. smile.gif

Yup, very similar....
Im waiting for the price of T5030C but if it too expensive i might get the normal 5030C as well, hehe...
*
I was told that the 5030C is getting harder and harder to get in Japan already. Which is why I decided to snap it up. That, and I found out the price for T5030C. Haha.

If you are interested, I was offered USD2,150 for it, inclusive of the Porter Yoshida bag. Delivers 17th May. Don't know how much is the retail though and I don't know what number is this piece. With only 200 in the world, I'm pretty sure it will be serialized. For watches like this, the serial number is quite crucial to watch collectors as well. Unless you don't mind any number. smile.gif

For USD2,150 (around RM 6,500), I'll get a proper mechanical watch. That's too much for a G-Shock. Then again, that's my opinion.

BTW, anyone has a BlueTooth G-Shock? My Initial Blue GB-5600AA-A1JR is running low on battery. I used the BlueTooth function once (to test) and it's been in my drawer ever since. I wanted to wear it just now and it says Low Batt (flashing battery sign).

I got mine during Chinese New Year, which is barely 3 months ago. Wasn't expecting the battery to go out of juice so fast...

how to prevent scratches ? or that glass is already anti scratch ?
*
I hope the others telling you to remove the bezel and applying a screen protector was a joke.

While removing it is quite easy, applying a screen protector might make the watch thicker (regardless of how thin the screen protector is) and you might not be able to put the bezel back. If you look closely, there aren't any gaps between the bezel.

Based on my experience, the GA and GD series' watch straps are easy to take out but they are DAMN HARD to put it back in, even with proper tools. Then again, it might be because of my skills, or lack thereof.

Anyway, to answer your question, the bezel is sufficient enough to protect the glass. If you look closely again, the glass is much deeper in the bezel. Even if you put the watch face down on a flat surface, it won't touch the glass.

Unfortunately, I don't think there is a way to protect the bezel. Just use it carefully lor. smile.gif

I hope that helps. icon_rolleyes.gif

A while back I saw someone selling the Murakami Frogman for USD9k and the MMJ Frogman for more than 400,000 yen. I'm pretty sure those prices are overpriced though.

TBH, I'll buy a nice mechanical watch with that kinda money.

I'm a little slow on this but I just read Basel World news (for other watches actually) and saw this gem - G-Shock Rangeman.

user posted image
user posted image

It's still a prototype and it might not even be released.

I'm a sucker for G-Shocks with plenty of features. The Rangeman will be (if it's being produced) the first ever G-Shock to have ABC sensors (Altimeter, Barometer, Compass). The only watches in Casio's line with ABC sensors are the Protreks.

I've been contemplating buying a Protrek because of its ABC sensors. Now I don't have to. Let's hope this will get released in the near future. smile.gif

There are some other prototypes as well -

hi guys smile.gif
new g-shock fan here. just asking for suggestions and a question

how much bigger is the 6900 models compared to DW-5600-E (which I currently have, and is my first g-shock )

and also looking to buy another g-shock for my bday smile.gif

-price around RM300+
-not too big, i have skinny wrists
-have variety of colors (optional, im more to black-ish colors but not too plain ones)
-any limited editions around that price?

any recommendations? im looking on the 6900s
*
Not many choices for your budget...

Only the regular ones fit your budget. The some of the GD-100 and GD-110 are slightly over RM300 but these are much bigger than the DW-5600-E you have. For 6900s, you'll have to look at the non-solar, non AEL DW-6900s, they will be cheaper.

As for limited editions (special editions), Project Hullabaloo sold the DW-6900AC-2 for RM300 some time back. I doubt you'll be able to get that price anymore.

Edit:
What rihuhs suggested is good. I think that's the best you can buy with RM300++.

Are you sure the G-factory are selling so cheap? I understand that many outlets have no stock of just 1-2 units as display and not for sale.
*
Yes. G Factory sells them at retail. No mark up. One catch tough, there aren't any stocks at all. But if they do, they have to sell it at RM499. Usually they'll post it up on their Facebook page to announce. The recent one, people snapped it up within minutes.

Some people got the DW-6930BS already. How?

I've seen a few videos, reviews and even some resellers selling them already. Non of them are in Malaysia though.

I thought it's only selling 17th May? Can't wait for mine to arrive.

Oh. The crown you mean?

I assume the GAC-100 series' crown works just like any other analogue watches.

1. You will be able to pull the crown out 2 levels. There should be a distinct "click" when you reach each level.
2. Pulling it to the max (2 levels) will let you adjust the time.
3. Pulling it one level will let you adjust the date.

I personally have a set of rules for setting the time on an analogue watch. I have plenty of mechanical watches as well, which is why I always follow this set of rules for analogue watches.

- Never set the date when the clock is at 9pm to 3am. That's when the date dial changes. Setting the date when it's at 9pm to 3am will force the dial to move unnaturally, causing the gears to wear/break if done too many times.

- Always turn the crown so that the minute hand goes clockwise. Watches/clocks are meant to go only one way. Turning the crown to make the dial go anti-clockwise might break the gears in it. If I accidentally set the time 1 minute faster, I'll go two full rotations (two 12 hour rotations) to get the time right.

- Always screw the crown in. It prevents moisture getting into the watches.

I have more rules for GMT, moon phase, annual calendar, regulators and other type of watches. Yeah I'm quite OCD like that when it comes to watches. smile.gif
