Hi guys,

Im thinking to build my 1st desktop on my own, I have budget around RM3.5-4k (the lower the better) for full setup and this is what in mind.

Intel i5 3470
Asrock B75M Pr03-M
Gskill DDR3 4GB x 2 / Kingston Value 4GB x 2
Kingston V+2000 120GB SSD
WD 1TB Blue
Seasonic S12 620W
Leadtek GTX670 / Leadtek GTX660 TI
Dell 23" U2312HM
Casing around RM300
Accessories RM350 - RM400 (DVD, Mouse, Keyboard, Wifi PCI, speaker)

This setup will be used mostly for gaming (WOT, BF, CoD), some music and movies.

Your suggestion and feedback is highly appreciated.

Looks ok overall, get single stick 8gb ram will be slightly cheaper at around RM169 instead of 2x RM94.

Nvidia QUADRO FX600? Is it better compared to other gc in doing simulation?
*
The speed of simulation still depends mainly on processor.
From the datasheet given by the ANSYS website, it states that it also supports gpu acceleration.
Only firepro and quadro cards are listed for the support, so I assume u may need it just in case the simulation require such hardware.

Hi everyone, want to check with you all sifus if this set is good to go for 50%gaming+50%movie, video editting+photoshop,little/no overclock:

I7-3770k  [already have]
Intel 240GB 520 series SSD [already have]
asus p8z77-m
kingston 4GB 1600MHz x2 (should i get x2 8)
saphhire hd 7870XT
seasonic G550W
CM Hyper 212 Evo
WD SATA HDD x2

Any comments and feedback are greatly appreciated...Thanks:)
*
The setup is good imo.
For ram, get single 8gb stick is cheaper than 4gb x2 and save ram slots for further upgrade if u desire.
Performance difference between ram in dual or single mode is very minimal, most likely the capacity of it plays the main role for multi-tasking or programs.

lol now thinking how to save enough money for them
*
Stick back to the question, main purpose of the rig.
If pure gaming, an i5 is sufficient although no harm getting i7 or xeon. But the hyperthreading feature not helping much to improve gaming performance.

gaming and 3d rendering, need more cores for that hence the xeon.
not going to OC so no point for 3770k, and compare xeon E3 to 3770 xeon it's cheaper biggrin.gif
*
Then u got a good point there.
Regarding mobo, if not going to do multi gpu setup and overclocking, it is a bit wasted since it offers such feature. Unless u only aim for the sake of looking good lol.
Instead of picking asus 7870 that price at RM900+, Sapphire 7870 XT offers around RM800 only and outperform asus 7870.

Looking for a Touch enabled Netbook or laptop for basic office function. Will be running database at enduser level, not graphic/sound intensive.

[Budget]: Lowest possible

[Purpose]: Ran basic data software with minimal data crunch, need USB for keyboard & mouse connection too.

[Monitor resolution] : irrelevant, but min. 15' screen will be helpful

[Personal Preference Brand]: None.  Must run windows 7 or 8. Must be touch screen enabled. But I don't need 10 touch, a few touch enabled will do.

[Location]: Klang Valley.
