It is possible, and I am live example (don't mean to brag) Doing phD on Seaweed Biotechnology. Although a lot of factors affect the possibility of finishing phD in 3 years, particularly the choice of supervisors, the field and also one's character, determination and abilities; it is still possible to achieve.

QUOTE(ron4 @ Dec 2 2012, 10:04 PM) Yes it is not fair actually if make comparison between courses. Example my Master thesis in computer science is so hard compared to my friend that take master in mass comm, saw their thesis is so easy as 1 2 3. But they also proud graduated with master even though with easy courses True, but as long as the time taken to graduate is fast within that particular course, then it is considered as very impressive already I guess sometimes luck also have a role to play in this kind of stuffs~

QUOTE(speckylaydeee @ Dec 5 2012, 02:55 PM) I went to the talk. In the end he didn't mention about how he completed his PhD in the shortest time. He said he chose to send his proposal to the least well known university which was not strong in research so that his chance for getting selected as a PhD candidate was higher. He even short listed Unimas as his choice. There you go... wasted my time there... Maybe I can organize a useful one next time haha
