Hi, I'm currently looking to upgrade my ICE system.

What can I get with a budget of 800-1000?
I listen to all songs, but not the hardcore loud songs.
Can I get a decent set for my budget?

Have looked around a bit, found
1) Eclipse SPKSP 6500 component set (Rm650) <<I believe this is a old model year 2009?
2) Nakamichi SP-CS63 component set (RM488)
3) Alphine Type G component set (Rm598)

Amp I haven't got any clue though.

My ride is a toyota corolla AE101, 6 speeder blacktop. So its a bit loud..not sure this factor would contributes to the type of speaker that I am buying or not.

Your advises would be greatly appreciated.

Heard a lot about focal though. Where do I find it? Does it needs to be paired with an amp?

It's best paired with an amp but can run from hu but it's better with an amp
But I think all the models u posted above can be bought at a lower price
But I dunno where to source for focals in Penang
The type g not bad but for rm 538 can get better??
But since your budget up to 1k if can buy the focals
Avoid the nakamichi as can buy for just rm 299

eh? But the type G price is the lowest price I can get after visiting 5 shops. Average is around 650-700.
Oh man, is penang Ice pricing that high marked up?

Oh my don't make my mistake buying type g for rm750 Later I cannot do anything because I agreed to pay in the first place need survey first
Retail only 538 while formers here can sell at rm3xx
Actually the sad truth con shops will markup price
I'm sure u will find a decent shop in Penang too

lowyet seller selling for RM3xx only? Wow, where? And how is the performance of type g?

Also, focul how much sell here?

Search in automotive garage the seller sells alpine/ pioneer stuff
Performance is good and enough to satisfy most people and can go loud enuff
Better than my previous mtx comps
For the focal ps 165 I bought from Zenn for 900 and DIY so installation is free to save $$
If include installation should be below 1k

But so far...and expensive. If I were to buy, I think its better i go down to KL to audit the component set.

Or I might go the budget way and get Alphine Type G + nakamichi amp..

or u can go for alpine type r...old model the Alpine SPR-17S...this SELLER sell it for rm550 only...my friend using this and i like it alot...find a 2 channel amp around 50-75rms per channel and ur are good to go...

Bro get d PS 165 if u can....they will surely outperform all other speakers dat u mentioned.

Whichever component u buy its best to run them off an amp to get d max out of them. I have a brand new Soundstream Reference 4 ch amp selling v cheap. Its a gr8 n powerful SQ amp. If interested let me know.

If u can get rm850 it's a great deal liao
Get that then save up for amp 2 channel amp is enuff
But if u don't want to go kl how about asking him to post

since ur budget is around 1k,than perhaps u can get something better than type g, but again it all depends

if u r not planning to spend again in future, than perhaps u can take type g , and use the balance to add an amp

hehe not sure, but we are offering type g for only 399, original local set of course haha

Hehe, I'm now surveying .. Which amplifier can I get to pair with the type G?

Also, between Type G and Type S, which is better?

Also saw Alpine PMX F-640 4 Channel Car Amplifier 640W for quite cheap. Just nice my budget if paired with the Type G or Type S.
