Hi All, I'm driving a artic blue 1.6 WAJA for almost 4 years now... bought in YEAR 2002 September. So far the front power window on the driver side is giving hell... changed at least 3 motors, the power window controller 3 times for the past 3 1/2 years...and now the power window die again.. Gonna get it fix very soon...

By the way, can someone tell me where can i get the metal power window? I heard it's more lasting compare to the plastic power window...

And also, my seats are getting a bit dirty and I'm planning to get some cover for my seats. Not too sure whether to get leather seats or not cause firstly, it's very costly, secondly, it's very hot... i saw some promotion in Tesco recently and for about RM600, i get get cover for all my seats... the brand is called some cool something something... can't remember what's the brand... anyone bought cover for their seats before? Which shop and how much.. care to share?? Thanks..

Fortunately for me, 3+ years no PW problems on my waja. Summore i use all 4 windows on a daily basis because i'm a smoker.  sweat.gif

Perhaps u should get the PW changed at an authorized proton SC.
The metal brackets has been made available since 1 ½ years ago and are fitted on the newer wajas.

Dun change it at other workshops cos I suspect they are using the imitation stuff and made of plastic. You would be made to change again many times over the years...

As far as I know, the metal ones are from the same supplier for Toyota cars and are of the same grade. My fren knows the local supplier/manufacturer.

btw, leather seats at rm600 ?  very cheap leh.........  shocking.gif

sure?where is the supplier/manufacturer...?my waja also bought on 2002..nothing much problem..PW also no problem for me.But wan to get all information when anything happen then i can settle ASAP cool.gif
i think that is not leather seats la..it is PU/PV i think.cos i also ever ask it b4..i also waja forum..the guy say `BORTHER` change that PU/PV seat only Rm280..i think i also will change it soon thumbup.gif

Yup, it's not leather, RM600 can't get leather i guess. But the salesman told me that the covers should stay cool even though under the hot sun.. The brand is cool something something... I saw Tesco selling the half cover for the seat, not the one that fully covers the seat .. Definately not brother brand..

Anyone know how much is the price for the metal power windows? Where can I get it myself and send to the workshop to changed it, and hopefully they will only charge me labour... I don't want to go to proton Service Center to change cause they really over charge everything.. sad.gif

I got lots of things planning to change, hopefully soon, depends on my pocket... Things I'm gonna changed are:

1) Absorbers
2) Power Windows.
3) Seats with cover
4) Steering (The steering becoming old and the leather is peeling off, sad.gif )

Gonna cost a bomb I guess... sad.gif

Hi All,

Does any one know what's the difference between an imitation part and original parts of the the piece of plastic on the door that holds the windows motor??

I went to a shop and ask they told me local made and original are the same.. the price for local made was around RM280 while the original was RM380, difference about RM100. But when I ask what was the difference, they told me it's the same..

However, I saw in some forums mentioned that the original one has a metal place on the part that the moter should be mounted. But the shop told me there's no metal plate on place to mount the engine..

Then I went to proton service center and they told me the part was RM430 + labour RM35... and they told me got metal plate on the place to mount the engine... But the price was nea rto RM475...

So can anyone tell me how much is the original made part? How much should i expect... is RM475 too much to pay for?

But from the guy in lelong.. it's selling the part for RM 238...
http://www.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/2006-11DSale3685382.htm

Well.. I guess not original loh... so for those that have recently change the part.. can someone tell me how much is the actual price.. I know i can get cheaper in other shops other than proton service center...but i am to know the money i paid for is really for original one and not imitation one...

btw.. how many kinds of parts are they right now in the market...

1) original
2) locally made (imitation)
3) taiwan made (imitation too, but quality is bad than the locally made)

hi,

the all metal PW kit on sale from this web-link
http://cart.zhapalang.com.my/product_info....products_id=310

this is exactly the same item i'm using, only cheaper from the spare part shop

btw, this kit will reuse the top metal part of the original PW, so do not simply throw away the old pw kit. beside that, the old pw kit will have the motor still useable. keep the old motor for future use smile.gif

Hi, Can i know which workshop did you go to changed the PW? Thanks.

Hi All,

My car kinda vibrating when the gear is in D while the car is not moving and from what i read from posts by the experts here, it's the engine mounting problem. Therefore I'm going to the workshop and change the engine mounting tomorrow. I hope it's gonna solve my car's vibrating problem.. So, i heard the engine mounting, 4 of them, original cost about RM380, is that right?

how old is ur car? mine was 4 yrs old when i changed the top, driver's side mounting (near the power steering fluid reservoir). my mechanic said that particular mounting is very prone to damage. was nice after the change (RM120) and no more rattling of the dashboard during acceleration. but now (after 6 months), the vibration is coming back although only when the car is stationary in Drive, i am thinking of changing the remaining 3 mountings. should have done so on the 1st time...now should i change 3 or 4? RM380 for 4 is about right...  sweat.gif

My car is going into 5th year now.. Can I know whether you use ori or imitation mounting? Btw, how many mountings are there anyway?

Hi All,

I'm thinking of buying zenden stabilizer bar front and rear from one of the forumer here that is selling it. So, anyone of waja owner here using stabilizer bar for their waja?? The reasons why I want to install the stabilizer bar are:

1) I just change my absorbers to monroe absorbers and the car is more bumpy after changing the absorbers. My mechanic say is normal because monroe absorbers are harder and that's y is bumpier.

2) For the past few months I feel that it's abit hard to control the car steering.. I did alignment but still no use.. at first I thought it's because the absorbers are not good, and that's why I change it.. after changing the absorbers.. still the same..

Any waja owner kind enough to give me some suggestion whether installing the stabilizer would solve my problem and kind to share they experience installing stabilizer bars.. pro and cons?

Btw, stabilizer bar would not lower down my car right? I dont want my car to be lowered. And would installing a stabilizer bar increase the fuel consumption of the car since that it's heavier now and more pressure to the tyres?

Thank you for those willing to share their experience... Many Thanks

1) Stablizer bar wont make ur ride less bumpy
2) Stablizer bar wont lower your car.
3) Won't increase fuel comsumption sweat.gif
4) Strut tower stablize bar hav use. Lower back one dun hav use... tht short one. The one u pun in boot yes. have use. Ppl put stabilize bar to make the chasis stiffer. Not to solve the problem ur having.  sweat.gif Find other solution to ur steering problem... this is definately not it.
*
thanks for the info.. errr..but what is the use of making the chasis harder?? less impact during accident?

I read in this website:

http://my-acoustic.com/Car/handling_secret...bilizer_bar.htm

that after installing the rear stabilizer bar, the car is not so bumpy anymore:

quote " After driving around 1km from the workshop, it is immediately felt that the rear is not as bumpy as before."

Lower back one that you refering to is the one below the car like what the website car owner have installed?

That is not a stabilizer bar.. that one is ARB aka Anti Roll Bar. I helps u corner better by reducing body roll.

The one i meant was this

http://www.circles99.com/elements/album/ci.../Bottom_bar.JPG

In a waja afaik frm wpc ppl they say its useless.

Usefull one is this

http://www.teamunemployment.com/gavin/illu...al/DSC03153.JPG

And front strut bar....

But this actually depend on driver.. sometimes more is less. More like how u wan ur car to behave in corner and such. More oversteer? Less understeer?? Bla bla bla... it helps a lil but for more obvious feel of course change suspension terus is better. Than play around wit its setting. But of course more expensive lark laugh.gif
*
Thanks for for advice and the pics too.. the pics helps alot.. Thanks.. smile.gif so I might be installing the front stabilizer bar then to see whether there's any different or not.. The rear one seems like blocking the booth... hmm... I got lots of things to put in the booth...
