Hi there, I am planning on coming to Kuala Lumpur to work in the next month or so. I play a lot of XBOX online especially Battlefield, COD and Halo plus others. I have done some research already and think that TM UNIFI might be the way to go. I would like to get anyones advice or experiences playing online gaming with LIVE. Is the connection reliable, what type of ping could I expect to get? lots of lag/map teletporting etc... How does anyone find UNIFI? Just to let you know I lived in KL earlier in the 2000s and had a bad experience with Streamyx. I really would appreciate anyones help or comments. Thanks D

I am not sure about the ping setting on UniFi but am a Xbox Live member and a gamer.
Stable, yes but if the server like Treyarch's or EA's aren't stable and always get disconnection, UniFi is still stable.
No lag..Okay,maybe once or twice but not more than 3 times.
Sure, stable and no buffering while watching videos. Download speed can be unpredictable at times.

COD BLOPS 2, what other games do you play and how do they perform? Do you have any problems getting into multiplayer games via online matchmaking. Do you know of anyone with experience of TM UNIFI specifically with FPS on LIVE? I have US XBOX with US account... should work ok? thanks

TM. Currently playing BLOPS 2 because I just want to prestige and continue to understand the maps and all. Since the game has been out for a week now, I can understand that people are having trouble with connection to the main server.
Sometimes, you will have to wait for the server randomly push you into some other lobby.
Third, Nope... I don't know..
For the US XBox Account, that you will have to create another topic. They will help you.
Cheers,mate.

Frustrating or pleasure to play?

UniFi is under TM basically. Game performance,if you know your game, everything's good.
Like I said, UniFi is stable. Just that the server like Treyarch or EA can be unstable at times.
Frustrating? Yes,at times though. People camping in Call of Duty series are frustrating. And yes,it even leads to some.."arguements with your controller" moment.

So I am thinking if you use TM Streamyx Broadband and get good performance in terms of lag, latency and connectivity, do you think it is reasonable to assume that I should get good results with TM UNIFI? thanks.

Getting Started

|
Unifi is fine for Live. I'm using the 5Mbps speed and I have not issues playing with other players locally and in the region (Australia, Taiwan, HK, Singapore, Japan, etc). Any fiber broadband Internet service should be ok as well. Just sign up and enjoy.

Added on November 20, 2012, 8:15 pmYes,you will definitely have a good time with TM's UniFi. I'm not sure about other broadbands but UniFi is the only trusted one I know of. Yes, campers must die. The maps, I think Treyarch made it a little bigger this time round. You will not have a problem with it. I suggest you will either sign up for the 5Mbps which is the cheapest and 20Mbps the expensive one. I just upgraded from 5 to 10Mbps. Haven't try out the speed yet but I'm about to. Thanks to everyone for replying.
I feel a lot better now.
I don't know what I would do if I couldn't get my daily fix of LIVE!
One more thing:
I have already researched what locations I can get it so I know where to go live, but is it easy to set up and how long does it take for them to set it up given the fact that the apartments are already wired for UNIFI?

2 hours top. But..if you want a better connection, then I would suggest you to rent a house or something.

Hi there
Well I am in KL at last.
Now I am here I am thinking about going with Astro IPTV
Does anyone have any experience with this and how does Xbox live perform?
I am thinking about getting 10MB/s. Do you think that this is enough or should I jsut go with the 24MB/s?
Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks
D

Thanks D Congrats on your choice and I tink regardless of ISP the XBOX LIVE experience should be great as they're using TM backbone afterall. 10mbps is fast enough for even HD video so for XBOX LIVE shouldn't be a problem.
