Correct way is use this tab as phone and chuck your phone as spare phone into closet =)

Try the erobot build which is still actively discussed in xda-devel. I'm using that, just as stable as stock and some nice extras. There are newer non-stock builds, but bluetooth VOIP and wireless tethering don't work at all =(

I've tried some, always break when car bounce because our roads so lousy.

If your car suitable, try to get the ones which attach to the aircon vent, more support. I drive proton, the aircon funny design so those don't work.

I've looked at that, but don't think it works on sloped dashboards like the Proton Saga ones, right? Of course in SUV would be good.

Finally moving away from this device, just too slow for me nowadays even after rooted + OmniROM/SlimROM. Upped to a padfone S, the Snapdragon 801 + 2GB RAM very big difference, and total price including the 9 inch screen is less than what I paid for this 7.7 last time.

No regrets though, this was a great device for the past 2 years. Considered going to Tab S or Tab Pro 8.4, but a bit too pricey =(
