need some enlightenment - I can't install Astro File Manager on my wife's SIII, it will pop up an error saying insufficient memory. But there is ample internal memory available and i can still install apps which is larger size than Astro. So far only Astro got problem. The SIII is with WannaLite custom rom.

I think this is not phone related so I just ask here instead of the SIII thread coz i seldom go there.

triple checked, there is still 5GB internal memory and much of the 32gb external card is free. No possible cannot install a 100k+ app. But i just can't figure out what is problem. Asked uncle Google already, can't find answer too.

Omega V6 for me. There is no best rom, just personal preferred ROMs.

Nope, no issue even in pitch black room. Yes, previous Note has some slight dark patch in pitch black room but not really has any effect during daily use.

Not sure which kernel, looks like stock to me. Do not notice any difference in font size but I m not good in these stuff.

ARHD is a big fat "stock" ROM. I can't really see what is the customised thing there. Try it but ditch it after few hours and go back to Omega.

I value more for those bloatwares to be discarded from my app drawer as i have many apps there. The stock rom performance is good enough, can't really feel any performance gain brought by ARHD.

what card are you using for purchase? Maybank debit card will charge you the RM1.00 once for authentication, irrespective of how many purchases until you delete the card from your "Wallet". It will be refunded back to you about 2 weeks later. My credit card do not have this pre-authentication charge.

I am using it with a neoprene case from the same seller.

What i means is the RM1 will be charged only once on the card and refunded later. If you remove the card from Wallet and add again next time, another RM1 will be charged and refunded later.

if you did nothing to format it in computer, the 64GB Sandisk microSD is exFAT. Copying extra LARGE movie file? Other file types can be copied? Time to RMA your card?

definitely can choose what file system to format. You are using Windows build in formatting utility or other program? You still can read it connecting to PC with SD card adaptor?

Actually best is to format the card in the phone, not with PC.

zzzz..... like that of course no choice. I thought you said you put it in a card adaptor and format. But i guess your microSD will remain exFAT.

Cannot format in your phone now? Not detected? Even if you successfully format it in PC. Still recommend to format it once in phone before you start using it.

nope, it will not change the file system, meaning if it is exFAT it will remain exFAT. If it is FAT32, it will remain FAT32.

ARHD is just a FAT stock Rom with some tweaks. With Omega's Aroma Installer, you can get rid of those Samsung bloatwares. Yes, ARHD has Aroma but it does not has option to choose what Samsung Apps you want to remove or keep - kena "conned" when I tried it last week.

So Omega FTW!!! Btw, i am on Omega V6.0. Some say 6.1 has some issue.

why you want to root in the first place? Dun root your Note II for the sake of rooting. The stock Note II rom is almost perfect, not much reason to root actually except that you might need to backup data from your SII and restore it in Note II. But since your SII is not rooted, you can't use Titanium Backup, no reason to root the spanking new Note II.

My advice (and i believe many bros here will agree) is to use your new Note II for few weeks at least to fully familiar with it. Then only consider whether you really need to root it. If you can tahan SII without root, dun think you will need to root Note II.

actually it depends on what you want to backup. For Contacts, since you are using SII, sync to Gmail will be just perfect. For sms, use SMS Backup and Restore. Copy the sms backup to your new Note II and restore - 100% of your sms will be intact. Titanium backup is good in restoring app data, particularly game progress, so you will not need to play the same game from Stage 0 again. But apart from game progress, i like the ability to backup some of my apps configuration like K9 mail, etc. I do not need to setup my few email accounts in it again after every new flash of rom or when changing phones.

Most other apps like AnMoney, or other financial apps have the function to do its backup, so not really a problem without TB, just more troublesome that you need to make backup from within each app.

Yes, Titanium backup need root to run.

you are on stock rom? maybe can try a factory reset. If problem persist, bring it back to Samsung SC.
