btw I notice something. the official ice cream linux kernel is suppose to be 3.0.1 and when jelly bean came out officially. the kernel used was 3.0.31

which is our mi501's version. what an odd coincident? no?

Google apps run smoothly. fast too. whatsapp etc runs well. GPS is good too. Locked on in 8 seconds or so. may be faster than 8s

I have used this wonderful phone for a few days now. I don't think I have notice it restarted before. Which is really a miracle compare to the phones I have used before. Thanks to csl for not screwing around with the OS.

I found 1 problem with my mi501.

when I connect a earphone to it. The sound comes out muffled. Like my earphone's diafragm is broken.

but my earphone is fine when I pluck it to the pc. So must be the phone's earphone connection or something

anyone else have this problem?

I use the earphone from my previous csl mi410 phone. I get this problem.

but I try the earphone that cames with the mi501 in the box. I don't get the problem. Hmmm....all earphones should be the same...

strange fact. I plug the earphone that came with the mi501 in to my computer. It was strange. the dialogue was very soft and the background sound was normal. As if the earphone is suppose to be use in a sorround system. may be. I don't know much about sound system.


but if you lookat the fact that normal earphone is screwy when plug into the mi501. but works normal when plug to the pc.

and the mi501 earphone is screwy when plug to the pc and works normal when plug to the mi501.


it means both mi501 and the mi501 earplug is using some kind of sorround system standards? I'm guessing. any thoughs?

my mi 501 crashes a few times a day...about 3-4 times an hour

don't know which app is causing it...

people actaully ask me if I"m using htc butterfly.

and they are surprise that one can get a good phone at this price.

does anyone here use waze? does it make your phone overheat and cannot be restarted in a while..

waze overheat my phone. and it oculdn't be turn on. CSL replaced the motherboard and battery for me. now the linux kernel is 3.0.21 instead of 3.0.31

any good rom to make our mi501 more usable?
