QUOTE(cphilip @ Jan 17 2013, 02:23 AM) The 1 thing that is stopping me from getting csl mi501 is the smaller ram memory when compared to star s1 or the star h7100 which comes with 1gb DDR3 ra star s1 having lower benchmark ..so my vote still mercury ...although components parts are different, all features of csl mi501 are almost the same as the star 5 inch over phones, so i don't see any reasons why i should not go for higher specs of china/taiwan phones. |

QUOTE(Cranky guy @ Jan 17 2013, 06:18 PM) No.1- CSL Switch Mercury is original, and not a clone. This might bother some people. and one more CSL is Malaysian made.Must proud lolx. huhuhuhuhuNo.2- CSL Switch Mercury is slightly smaller and lighter than the Star, and is more portable, in a way. No.3- CSL Switch Mercury's benchmarks scores are higher than most phones in it's price range. My most common Antutu score is around 6900-7200, while the Star scores lower than that. No.4- MTK6577 phones are known to have some GPS problems outside of China, while Qualcomm's S4 chips have no problem with GPS. No.5- CSL has many service centers in Malaysia, while Star is still new, and only have one shop for claiming warranty. |

QUOTE(cmykay @ Jan 22 2013, 01:17 PM) Honestly, nearly every darned appliance is China made. Like some of you, I have no qualms with China made phones. A phone is a phone to me, as long as it can make calls with clarity and send SMS. A smartphone with other apps is a bonus. apple made in wer?its cheap labour there. As with the Mercury - after rooting it (yes I rooted it finally!), it's faster and has more available RAM. I also changed the fonts to a more designer typeface. Honestly, if you ask me, my old CSL Switch Planet mi400 and my current Mercury performs way better than the Sony Xperia. The battery for the Xperia sucks big time BUT the CSLs - they are fantastic! Hopefully the next lineup of CSL phones will have more RAM. Attached thumbnail(s) |
