One week or so away, and I almost couldn't find this thread!
Thanks ppl for all the input.
Elb's explanation on the BEng/Msc vs MEng route was most enlightening. Thanks again.

IMHO, you have a wrong question. If a person is smart enough and deserve to get a Master Degree in Chemical Engineering, s/he would be able to get close to full scholarship to get his/her Master degree in Electrical Engineering. It is fairly common to get scholarship for graduate degree in USA (regardless of whether you are foreign student or not).
I am confused. I am trying to understand what you are saying. Are you saying:
If one is good enough to be get admission to a Masters programme, one must also be good enough to secure a scholarship ( I am assuming you are referring to a merit schlarship vs one based on financial need). Therefore there are no privately funded students on the masters programme?...as least in the USA..ie
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Can the person makes enough money in future to justify RM680K??? You could do a lot with your life with that kind of money.
We are hoping that with the education, our loved one could do a lot more with his life, deriving benefits/values than go beyond the material returns of say, an investment in a piece of real estate.
