Rooted but I've been on the same CheckRom for quite awhile already and it's been very stable. Honestly I maybe remember the phone requiring a batt reset at maximum once since I bought it and now it seems to be completely dead.

Tried that already. Took it out for about 20 mins, put it back in and tried everything including download mode. No response even after holding it down for 20 secs. Even hard reset no response.

Left it plugged into the charger now hoping somehow it will repair itself.

Nope... sigh, guess so. Just so random and troublesome now. Don't even have alarm clock, whatsapp, camera etc.

yes, if you can flash custom rom made for i9300 means your phone is really i9300 samsung..
