ok the CVT.
totally floored pedal still takes 2-3sec before torque comes
overtaking cars is kinda scary coz u need to factor in that 2-3secs
got any tricks to get instant "gear" drop?

1) slot into L for instant torque to the CVT, but CVT still need time to arrive a the proper ratio to deliver the torque.
2) Switch on SAT mode, tekan throttle to downshift, instant torque from engine to wheel. After overtake, switch off SAT.

thanks dares for the useful reply. i'll try them and see which works better for me.

today finally kena first issue with the saga

was using keys to open the rear bonnet lid, turned key heard click, bonnet opened, but the key wont turn back into original position cannot be pulled out. key jammed in keyhole! after few minutes of tugging, twist n hard turns, finally key came out from the hole. but now, the bloody car alarm will not LOCK (arm) coz the sensor thinks the car bonnet lid is still open. tried to locate the sensor (like car doors quite obvious) but cant find it. no choice, brought car to SC to fix it. the guy fixed it, told me the bonnet sensor is at the latch (patutla i cant find it). so drove away thinking problem fixed. went buy some stuff, opened bonnet to put things in, then problem again! now the bonnet latch wont "catch". so bonnet wont close n lock in place! i had to go buy masking tape to tape the bloody bonnet lid so that the lid wont open-close while i drive. WTF right. went to same SC and told them after the fix sensor, this happened. in the end, they say will change the latch entirely but need to order parts and wait. so we'll see what happens next. anyone else had this issue?

firmware upgrade[U]
while at SC today, they read my ECU with a laptop and say there's a new version of firmware for the FLX.
i've made an appointment to get my ECU flashes soon. but i wonder whats the difference is? better FC? or better power?
anyone else already got the new firmware from proton?

need to wait their call to schedule it though. mine is 1.3CVT

I think upgrade only for CVT version right? The TCU...

i didnt ask much detail blush.gif
i told my bro (in car industry) and he told me maybe proton has a batch of faulty ECU and used this upgrade as excuse to replace that batch. i mean, he could be right too. either way, i'm surely going to get the "upgrade" since its free. i'll keep u all posted if there's any diff in the car after the upgrade. but it really funny when i was told about the firmware upgrade. i mean, the saga only barely 2 months old hmm.gif hopefully got improvement on the CVT area. coz the FC to me is OK so far compared to my other cars, i have no real complaints about that.

Guys, Good Morning.

I plan go get Saga FLX,
but undecided whether to get Manual or Auto.
Any advice for a noobie?

currently driving 20 years old wira 1.5M.

get the MT 1.6 since you used to a wira 1.5 MT
as much as i liked the convenient of driving the CVT, i still cant get used to over-taking cars in the CVT saga.
the response (gear lowering equivalent on normal AT) takes 2-3 seconds before u feel the torque (power to overtake)
on MT you have full control, and if you're used to that, any AT/CVT will need some getting used to.
bro dares has given some tips on working-around that issue, but i've still not really tried it. havent driven the saga much this few days.

But good weather I wont pasang foggies also  hmm.gif  My concern is improving visibility during rain and foggy conditions. Need to do something with my foggies, it is nigh useless as it is.

from experience, if the foggies are not for cosmetic, and you really want it for lighting, then try to avoid taiwan/china or whatever those unknown brands no matter how nice they looked like in advertisements.
go get reputable ones like cibie, hella, etc. the light spread of unknown brands can be close to being useless most of the time. you'll regret it soon and forced to change later.
