i checked out the seiko astron again up close.
its quite thick, but pretty light cos titanium casing.
its also weird cos it is 100m WR, but it has a main screw down crown, while the other 2 pushers arent.
the guy who demo it basically said its irritating to set the time manually, cos u cant really wind the hands like u do a regular watch...just at the mercy of the automation as it extremely slowly makes its way around until it gets to the right time...and im still not exactly sure what the main crown does tongue.gif
then again its not often that u have to do that since the internal batt should last quite abit.

I think the SNK is much better looking than the SNZG posted earlier.

Main difference is that its quite a bit smaller at 36mm vs 42mm for SNZG. This is up to personal preference though the military styled watches its based on, are about 34-36mm.

Other than that, the SNZG has better water resistance rating of 100m vs 50m for the SNK

I use the SNK809 as my daily watch. The transparent caseback is inscribed as WATER RESISTANT. According to the manual, it is designed and manufactured to withstand up to 3 bar (30m) for accidental contact with water or rain.

It does not stop me from washing mine daily. No problems so far after using it for roughly 6 months.

If the caseback is inscribed with WATER RESISTANT 5 BAR (50m) then it is suitable for taking a shower or swimming.

You can always download the user's manual from Seiko's website.

I made the same mistake too. I thought it has the same resistance as my Seiko Kinetic SKJ006P1. Did rinse my watch under 2 feet of water a few times. Thankfully nothing bad happened.
I believe yours is inscribed with WATER RESISTANT 10 BAR on the caseback?

me too... kind of.

outlook wise, the 007/009 divers looks more refined than the "ugly" monsters.... but still get racuned by the monster...

Yeah.. it says 10 bar. I believe most of the newer seiko 5 release also upped the WR to 10bars.

Waiting for a 4R36 SKX007... or do you think they'll be replacing it with the prospex like Sumo?
