Surely better than the Tissot and Certina quartz that you were previously looking at...

- Sapphire crystal like both the Swiss
- 100m water resist (not that you'll be swimming with it) vs 30m for the Tissot and 50m for the Certina
- Screw in caseback vs the push pressure type for the Swiss
- Seiko lume

heard that seiko beats some of the swiss stuff, so u recommend the seiko over the Swiss watches that i interested? and i currently eyeing on everdying's orange monster biggrin.gif

From your last posts... it seems to be that you're looking for a sensible no fuss watch ( you even compared warranty laugh.gif )

In that case, I don't see why not Seiko... also you're looking at quartz.... Seiko practically invented the stuff and brought the Swiss watch industry to its knees.

For your reading pleasure in case you haven't already read.

What do you mean cannot afford an automatic? Seiko and Orient sells automatic watches for less than RM500.

There's a gazillion model in the Seiko 5 range that fits your budget.

I paid a little over half your budget for this laugh.gif

Shop around bro.
Don't be afraid of the prices. Especially Seiko and Orient.
On the safe side, you can browse for models which are below 1k retail price.
You can get auto watches from approx 250 and above.
Quartz are not always cheaper, titanium chrono quartz with alarm from seiko can retail at 1.4k-1.6k.
Look for what suits you best. It's all about preference.
Mine will always be auto ahead of quartz. biggrin.gif

The middle one that has extra dial indicates the date, the rest of 2 are lack of date indicator.

I got my Seiko 5 (SNZF17K1) Automatic slightly less than your budget. Hehe..
If not, Orient Mako is quite a good choice too.

guys, i saw one seiko 5 at a shop (stupid of me to not get the model number) and i quite like the design. simple and nice, metal strap (it has been a longggg time since i've had any metal strap watch).

i was surprised that it costs rm330. the salesperson told me the "movement is from japan but the rest of the watch is from china"

does it mean it's fake or what?

Need at least a model name or picture as there's a mindboggling number of models that fits that description.

Seiko has factories across Asia ... I dunno how to tell also.

As for Seiko 5.... http://www.creationwatches.com/products/se...atic-sports-89/

What's available on the link is by no means comprehensive.
